Her face reflected in his pitch-black eyes.
"Yeah," his voice was low. "Kiss me."
"..."
This was incredibly bizarre.
But since such a rare opportunity had presented itself, Vivian certainly wasn't going to miss it. She lowered her head and captured his lips.
They smelled of the same body wash. In the tangled intimacy of their breaths, even their body heat transferred between them.
The kiss didn't last long, but to Vivian, it was unprecedentedly thrilling.
She couldn't read him.
It was a feeling she couldn't quite put into words... but overall, it didn't sit well with her.
Grabbing a handful of his shirt over his chest, she lay down beside him and murmured, "Why are you indulging me so much today?"
The man kept his eyes closed. "You've gone to such great lengths. It wouldn't be right to let you work so hard all the time."
Was Silas Sterling the type to be considerate of others?
No.
Vivian gave a muffled hum and didn't say anything else.
Though her mouth was quiet, her hands were not. She slowly trailed her fingers down his chest, feeling the gauze of his bandage before shifting her touch to a firmer, more sensitive peak.
Silas's breathing hitched, but he didn't stop her.
Vivian turned on her side, pressing flush against him as she slowly hooked her leg up his calf.
It sent a tingling sensation through him, teasing his heart until it ached with want.
She breathed warmly against his ear. "Silas, are you going to be able to sleep?"
"If you stop annoying me, why wouldn't I be able to sleep?"
"But I don't want to sleep."
The muscles in Silas's jaw tightened. He opened his eyes, a heavy mist swirling within them.
"Vivian."
"Hmm?"
"Look up."
