The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 371

Silas Sterling sat in the lobby of the Sterling Corporation, his unfathomable gaze fixed on his phone. Just then, a few strands of wavy chestnut hair fell across his screen, accompanied by a perfume scent so strong it made him want to choke.

He looked up.

Instantly, he pocketed his phone, his eyelids twitching with irritation.

"Are you out of your mind?"

Scarlett Sinclair stood up straight, her bright eyes looking at him with amusement as she tutted. "To think the great Mr. Sterling is secretly dating an employee behind everyone's back. Aren't you embarrassed?"

"Do you have that much free time?"

Silas shot her a glance. Catching sight of Simon Young stepping out of the elevator from the corner of his eye, he stood up and walked toward the exit. "If you're that bored, I'll call your dad and have him set up a couple of blind dates for you."

Scarlett walked out with him, completely unfazed by his threat.

"Are you and Vivian Fairchild officially living together now?"

The man ignored her, pulling open the car door and bending down to get in.

She hurried her pace and climbed in from the other side.

Silas glanced at her but didn't kick her out, silently acquiescing to her presence.

Knowing their dynamic, Simon started the engine without a word.

In the backseat, Silas casually closed his eyes. "What do you want from me?"

"Who said I was looking for you?" Scarlett scoffed, her demeanor radiating the arrogance of a wealthy heiress. "You haven't answered me yet. Are you serious about Vivian?"

"No."

"Then whose text were you just looking at?"

"A telemarketer."

"..."

Scarlett secretly gritted her teeth. This man lied as easily as he breathed; getting a word of truth out of him was harder than scaling a mountain.

Silas kept his eyes closed. With that kind of expression, he always seemed enveloped in a mysterious aura, as if his aloof, disciplined demeanor meant everything he said was the absolute truth.

Scarlett stared at him for a good while before huffing in annoyance, crossing her arms, and turning her head away.

Neither of them spoke a word until they arrived back at the Southwood estate.

As the two walked back side by side, she finally noticed Scarlett standing there.

"When did you get here?"

"..."

Scarlett let out an exasperated laugh. "You didn't know? I came with your man."

"Oh."

And that was it.

Watching the obnoxious couple walk past her, Scarlett nearly ground her teeth into dust. She followed them inside, listening to the woman's incessant, chattering voice.

"Do you want to take a shower first? I can help you, okay?"

Silas gave her a look. "No need."

"Then I'll wait downstairs for you to eat."

Vivian's gaze was entirely focused on the man. When she finally turned around, her expression completely changed. She glanced at Scarlett for two seconds before walking over to sit in the living room.
