Edward wasn’t just saying it. He had done as he said he would. If he hadn’t rescued Melanie just now, she would have been labeled a thief. With the way things had looked, it would have been difficult for her to convince anyone of her innocence, no matter how she tried to explain it. *Tell me the truth. Do you know who did it? Melanie gazed intensely into Edward’s 

s eyes. 

Edward had noticed Felicia’s recent unusual behavior, and he felt that she was the most likely to have done it. However, he was afraid that if he said so, it would ignite a direct conflict between the two women. “Who do you think it is?” 

Melanie noticed that Edward had evaded the question, so she did not ask further. However, she said harshly, “I don’t like causing trouble. If they leave me alone, I’ll do the same. However, I’m not just going to be a pushover if anyone dares to provoke me.” 

She had made her stance clear. Felicia’s actions had crossed the line, and she would not let the former off easily. 

Sophie might be annoying, but all she did was whine a little. She had never actually done anything. Felicia was much sneakier and had struck first with such a malicious trick on Melanie.. 

Melanie had to admit that it had been a good strategy. The Graysons would have thought of her as a thief if Edward hadn’t been around. If so, how could she continue to live in this big family? 

She thought that Felicia was such a venomous woman. 

Edward knew what Melanie was hinting at but did not want to intervene. He would find it difficult to get involved in a battle between the two women. Besides, what Felicia had done had been very disappointing. It was perfectly natural for Melanie to want to strike back. “Yes. You have your own ideas, I won’t say too much.” 

Once the issue had been resolved, they began their nightly studies. 

Meanwhile, Felicia was stewing in her room. She felt extremely unhappy when she thought of how Edward had defended Melanie. 

She was very disappointed in him for lying on behalf of that country bumpkin. 

Felicia folt frustrated. She grabbed her pillow and punched it viciously a few times. There was a sinister look in her eyes. 

She thought that Sophie was such an idiot. How could she believe everything that Edward said? Why didn’t she use her brain? 

Edward had clearly been making things up just now. Anyone bright would have been able to tell, and Sophie had been the only one who believed it. 

Felicia felt rather afraid. Things had turned out so differently from what she had expected. 

She intended to make Melanie the clear culprit, leaving no room for debate, ensuring everyone would look down on her.

However, Edward had appeared out of nowhere and resolved the matter smoothly. Now, even Luca could probably tell that Melanie hadn’t done it. And if she hadn’t, it must have been someone else. There weren’t that many people in the family. Who else could it be? 

Felicia did not want anyone to suspect her, so she would have to devise a strategy to make Sophie the scapegoat. 

While the rest of the family pondered the incident, Sophie fell asleep the moment her head hit the pillow, not giving it a second thought.
