Chapter 98
Edward pulled a chair from the side and sat at the end of the bed.
Melanie took a deep breath and felt herself grow warm. After all, who would help his wife dry her hair or thoughtfully apply ointment to her injuries? It was her own husband!
“Don’t worry.
“Come on!” Seeing how fearless she looked, Edward sighed. He squeezed some ointment on his hand and gently applied it to her ankle. Her ankle looked nice and clean
Edward didn’t pay much attention to the details. But when he touched her, he inexplicably felt a little tense.
Melanie noticed his reaction and couldn’t help being suspicious of him. She wondered if he had a foot fetish.
Edward cleared his throat and applied some pressure on her ankle. At that moment, she winced in pain. She couldn’t think about anything else as a sprained ankle felt bad. At that moment, it was swollen terribly.
She couldn’t believe her rotten luck. She wondered how she could have fallen so badly while in the shower. Suddenly, she felt foolish. Someone might even think that she was purposely seducing Edward.
He massaged her ankle for a moment before leaving to wash his hands.
“It’ll probably take a few days to recover fully, and you’ll feel better soon. You’ll be able to walk without any issue, but you’ll have to be careful.”
She wouldn’t have any problems walking around but limp a little.
Melanie nodded. “Thanks. I’m sorry for troubling you”
He sighed helplessly. “Just watch out next time. After all, you’re pregnant now. You must be careful in everything you do.”
Some people would accidentally lose their children with just a fall, and there was no guarantee of the baby being fine if something happened. So, she had to be careful and try to prevent something like that from happening again.
“I know. I was just caught by surprise just now.”
Edward nodded. Ele didn’t b
blame her for what had happened. After all, she was a grown woman who could think for herself.
When Luca and the rest came home that night, they learned about her twisted ankle and anxiously checked on her.
