Chapter 99 

Melanie felt aggrieved. After all, she was already being cautious, and no one would’ve expected an accident like that. 

She knew the Graysons were only looking out for her because of the babies she was carrying. Even so, she still telt a little sad. 

“I know, Sapphire. I’ll watch our next time.” 

Sapphire nodded and said, “You should know how important the children are to us. Xavier is holding on to his last breath to see his great–grandchildren. So, even if you don’t care about us, you should at least still care about him. I’m sure you’re smart enough to know that, right?” 

She was really straightforward in her remarks, which frustrated Melanie a little. After all, a mother–in–law could never feel as close as a biological mother. No matter how well Sapphire treated her, there would always be a barrier that prevented them from getting close.

“I understand, Sapphire. However, what happened today really was an accident. I didn’t want it to happen as well. All I can say from now on.” 

Sepphire also realized that she was starting to sound like a broken record. So, she hurriedly changed her tone and said something nice to Melanie. After dealing with Sapphire and Luca, Melanie felt really down. 

Unexpectedly, someone visited them at that moment. It was none other than Dalton Grayson, Luca’s younger brother. 

Luca and Dalton didn’t get along well. They might seem fine on the outside, but they were actually competing with each other in secret. So, when Luca saw that Dalton was visiting them, he questioned his brother’s intentions 

“Why are you here, Dalton?” 

Dalton chuckled coldly. “Is Edward here? I have something to talk to him about.” 

Luka nodded and went to Edward’s bedroom to call him. “Edward, Dalton is here to see you 

After taking a seat, Dalton got the formalities out of the way first. Then, he announced the purpose of his visit. Coincidentally, Talia was actually a relative of Dalton’s wife, Susan Astor. Talia and Henry were desperate since that school incident, so they began reaching out to their friends and relatives for help 

Then, they managed to find their way to Susan. When Susan and Dalton heard about the incident between the kids, they didn’t think it was a big deal.. Considering that Henry and Talla were their family, they confidently told those two to wait for their good news. 

It was only at that moment that Luca learned that Nellie was being bullied during the day. Then, he had a complicated look in his eyes. 

When Melanie found out that someone was there to plead for Talia and Henry, she became even more frustrated. When Dalton and Susan arrived, they only said they were looking for Edward and didn’t mention her at all, which showed that they didn’t care much about her. 

Even though it was her daughter that was hurt, they didn’t beg her for forgiveness. They were truly looking down on her. 

After Luca roughly learned about the incident, he turned to Edward. “Edward, although Nellie was indeed bullied, she also retaliated. Since we’re all family here, why don’t we just let it go? They can apologize to us with their kid later, and we can all be friends after that. 

“So, please don’t hold it against them. You can do whatever you want, but we should learn to be flexible.” 

Sepphire also agreed with her husband. “Edward, your father’s right. Let’s just drop it. After all, Dalton and Susan have sincerely approached us, so let’s
