Chapter 60 

Unbeknownst to Melanie, Edward’s heart was racing in the darkness as well. 

Melanie found Edward’s face irresistibly charming. And her face had the same effect on him. Whenever he looked at her, he couldn’t help but think back to that night and what had happened between them. 

He knew just how soft Melanie’s lips were and how sweet they tasted. Being alone in a room with her was a land of torture for him. 

Just because he kept his distance from women didn’t mean he lacked desires. He was a normal man, after all 

The next morning, after breakdast, Edward drove Nellie to school before dropping Melanie off at her store. Only after that did he head out. 

Julia couldn’t help but sneak glances when she saw Edward dropping Melanie off. 

“Melanie, Edward really treats you well can you tell me how you two get along? I heard from Tim that he doesn’t lilor dealing with women. His classmates even suspected he might prefer men.” 

Melanie almost spit out her drink at pulla’s words. She hadn’t expected them to have such progressive thoughts. 

“We just get along like normal. He’s really nice. He’s also good to me and my kid,” 

Julia still found it hard to believe. She thought things couldn’t be that simple. How could a man who was so difficult for others to handle be so docile around her? Julia realized it was no surprise that she respected melanie. She found the latter to be truly exceptional. 

After returning home yesterday, Julia mentioned her job at the boutique. Her parents exploded with rage upon hearing that. They thought it was embarrassing to 

work in retail. 

Ultimately, it was Julia’s brother, Timothy Baker, who spoke up for her, which made her family relent. Otherwise, they might have kept her from leaving the house that day 

“I really envy you for having such a husband. Look at me. I have never even dated. My mom keeps pushing me to go on blind dates, but the guys run off as soon as they see me. I don’t know why,” Julla said, sighing heavily. 

Melanie looked at Julia and thought that it was unsurprising that guys would run away. With her hair cut so short and her dark skin, even if her features were excellent, the impression she gave was just too strong

“Why is that a mystery? You’re beautiful. Just let your hair grow out a bit. If they’re not interested, it just means they don’t have good taste. Good things take time. Your match is still out there waiting for you,” Melanie advised, pulling out a book to read. 

Julia admired her determination even more as she watched Melanie focus on her studies. 

Meanwhile, Sapphire was receiving rave reviews at work for weating a dress picked out by Melanie. At lunch in the cafeteria, even the director’s wife approached her to ask her where she got that dreas from. 

At first, Sapphire didn’t want to mention that Melanie was a small business owner, thinking it might be embarrassing. But seeing how much everyone liked the dress changed her mind. She casually explained the situation. 

“Can you bring me one in my size tomorrow? How much is it? I’ll pay you,” the director’s wife asked. 

Sapphire was reluctant to accept the money, so she outright refused and said that she’d give it to her instead, 

“If you don’t accept my money, then I won’t take the dress. Everyone else wants to buy one, too. You’ll miss out on a good chunk of change. Just take it.” 

During that lunch hour alone, Sapphire ended up collecting money from five people. At that point, she couldn’t argue further and began believing in Melanie’s judgment.
