Sophie was at a loss for words. Where was she supposed to gather the money as a high school student?
The thought of Melanie driving that car was more than she could bear.
Frustrated that Edward wouldn’t indulge her, Sophie complained to her parents. “Dad, Mom, I want to drive that car too! If I had it, I could sleep in a little longer and wouldn’t have to get up so early to ride my bike.”
As the youngest in the Grayson family, Sophie had always been pampered and felt entitled. Seeing that Edward wasn’t giving in, she decided to go straight to their parents for support.
Luca and Sapphire exchanged glances, both puzzled by Edward’s sudden change of heart, just yesterday, he had looked down on Melanie for not contributing anything at home and insisted she go out and start a business.

But Edward ignored Sophie’s complaints entirely and shot a knowing glance at Melanie. The two of them headed straight back into the house.
