30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 545

Leonora's brow furrowed as she was about to speak, but Taylor reached out and pinched her cheek. "Hey, friend, care to join me for a walk?"

Leonora said nothing.

With a complex expression, she found herself being pulled out of the car by Taylor. She didn't need to think too hard to realize that Taylor was trying to one-up Grant. Everything he did today was intentional.

But the past was a misunderstanding. His first love had long married someone else. Holding onto this grudge was pointless.

If he wanted to compete, he should be competing with her husband.

They walked side by side along the riverbank's pedestrian path. A cool breeze swept by, pleasantly fluttering Leonora's hair. To avoid Taylor holding her hand, she crossed her arms in front of her chest, hiding her hands.

Her full-on defensive posture made Taylor both amused and exasperated.

"The wind feels nice tonight," he commented.

"Mhm."

Seeing Leonora's low spirits and her indifferent attitude towards him, Taylor draped his arm over her shoulder.

Taylor's arm was heavy. As it landed on Leonora's shoulder, she turned to look at him. "Is this how your 'friends' walk? Do your 'friends' also sling their arms around each other?"

With that, she lifted her hand and removed Taylor's arm. Back when they were together, she might have allowed a hug or a kiss, but now that they were apart, what was he thinking?

Leonora's seriousness was endearing to Taylor. He once again draped his arm over her shoulder, pulling her a bit closer. "All 'friends' do this. You and that Mr. River must have shared a bed, too."

Taylor’s nonsense made Leonora look at him as if he was an idiot.

He couldn’t possibly compare to Joselyn. They weren’t even the same gender.

In short, Taylor would say anything to take advantage of her.

After a long stare at Taylor with disdain, Leonora again removed his hand from her shoulder.

After several back-and-forths like this, Leonora said, “Your arm is heavy.”

“Fine, holding hands works too.”

Silence. Who said anything about holding hands? Leonora quickly crossed her arms again.

Seeing this, Taylor draped his arm over her once more.

As they walked and chatted, the atmosphere was pleasant.

Taylor and Leonora grew increasingly comfortable with each other, despite occasional gossiping glances from passersby. Taylor didn’t care and didn’t remove his arm from her shoulder.

After walking some distance, lights suddenly illuminated the opposite bank, stopping Leonora in her tracks. She turned and leaned on the railing to enjoy the view.

There hadn’t been a light show when she and Grant walked here yesterday.

Watching the colorful light show, Leonora felt like it was the holiday season, like she was in a dream.

After taking some photos to send to Joselyn, Taylor suddenly hugged her from behind.

Leonora was startled at first but then turned to look at him.

Their eyes met, and before Leonora could push him away, Taylor spoke first.

“I’ve been so tired lately, meeting after meeting, contracts to sign, only getting three to four hours of sleep a night.”

For someone as assertive as Taylor to play the sympathy card, Leonora couldn’t bring herself to push him away immediately.

Seeing his closed eyes, she said, “Then you should rest earlier, try to manage your work better.”

Taylor nuzzled her cheek. “I can’t sleep without you by my side.”

Leonora fell silent. She hadn’t expected Taylor to play games or show vulnerability.
