30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 597

He always felt he could handle this better than Leonora.

With her arms wrapped around Taylor's neck, Leonora teased, "No need, plus I haven't even mentioned this to my parents yet. You showing up out of the blue would really freak them out."

"Alright then, if anything comes up, just give me a call. I'll take care of it."

The two of them were cuddling downstairs, acting like teenagers rather than people pushing thirty, especially Taylor.

Their public display of affection was, well, like something out of a high school romance.

"Hey, Mrs. Winters, you're back." A familiar voice called out suddenly.

Leonora turned to see their next-door neighbor, which made her jump out of Taylor's embrace. "Oh, Mr. Chen."

It was almost ten at night, and the neighborhood was practically deserted. Yet, there he was, the old man still downstairs.

Super awkward.

Leonora quickly put some distance between herself and Taylor. The old man eyed Taylor with a grin and asked, "Is this your boyfriend?"

Every time he'd seen Leonora before, she was always alone. At her age, you'd think she might have a man by her side by now.

He'd even heard her parents' occasional grumbles, thinking maybe she had some kind of psychological hang-up. But turns out she could date and make male friends just fine.

At his question, Leonora quickly responded, "Yes, Mr. Chen, this is my boyfriend, Taylor."

"Mr. Chen," Taylor greeted him politely.

Seeing this, the old man smiled and said, "Good to have a boyfriend. Your parents must be relieved. Alright, you young folks carry on. I'm heading upstairs."

With that, the old man walked off, hands clasped behind his back.

As Leonora watched him go, she turned back to Taylor, realizing they needed to be a bit more discreet in public.

After the old man left, Leonora told Taylor, "I'm heading up. You should get some rest too."

"Just one more hug before you go," Taylor insisted, pulling her close before she could respond.

They shared another sweet moment downstairs, kissing until Leonora's lips tingled, before Taylor finally let her go.

Watching Leonora climb the stairs, Taylor felt a deep sense of satisfaction. They were finally together.

A bit later, upstairs.

When Leonora opened the door, her parents were still awake, watching TV on the living room sofa.

Seeing them, Leonora, while taking off her shoes, said, "Dad, Mom, why are you still up?"

At this hour, they were usually in their bedroom, even if not asleep.

Holding the remote, Shania gave Leonora a sidelong glance and said, "How could we sleep when you weren't back yet?"

In truth, her parents knew exactly what she was up to. Shania was just giving her a hard time to make sure she came home earlier in the future.

Leonora felt a pang of guilt at her mom's expression.

Trying to dodge a scolding, she said, "I'm old enough now; you don't have to worry about me."

Before her mom could retort, Leonora quickly added, "By the way, there's something I need to discuss with you both."

Shania, still looking stern, said, "You're dating someone, aren't you? You have a boyfriend now."
