30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 544

Sitting in the office for a while, calming her nerves and planning her next moves, Taylor finally started to pack up for the day. She had given Leonora enough space, enough time to clear her head. It was time to bring her back.

The next morning, when Grant arrived at the company, he happened to run into Taylor. "Taylor," he greeted her with the same polite, elder demeanor.

With a smirk, Taylor responded, "Uncle, still hanging around? Haven't left yet?"

Grant chuckled, "Worried I’ll leave without giving you your bonus?"

Taylor's words were a clear jab, reminding Grant of his promises and urging him to keep them, without meddling in her affairs. Grant, fully aware of Taylor’s intentions, smiled, "I’ve already explained everything. The issues from the past were just misunderstandings. You and Arielle have parted ways amicably, so there's no need for me to leave."

Grant hadn’t intended to provoke Taylor, but Taylor’s arrogance was getting on his nerves. Grant’s calm demeanor only made Taylor’s gaze colder. Taking a few steps forward, Taylor looked Grant straight in the eye, "So, Grant, are you still competing with me for Leonora?"

"Taylor, Arielle was never yours, not before and certainly not now."

"If you were genuinely good to Arielle, I would have wished you both well. But your heart isn’t truly with her."

Taylor laughed off Grant’s judgment, "And how would you know if my heart is true?"

Grant smiled, "You know it best, Taylor."

If Taylor truly cared, he wouldn’t have hidden their relationship for two years, nor would he have agreed to part ways so easily when Leonora suggested breaking up. True affection is never so easily discarded.

"Mr. Taylor, Mr. Samuel," the secretary emerged from the office, startled to see the two bosses facing off in the hallway. She quickly greeted them.

Hearing someone approaching, Taylor and Grant quickly dropped their confrontation, casually discussing work matters before parting ways, allowing the secretary to breathe a sigh of relief.

However, the fact that Leonora had dinner and went for a walk with Grant the previous evening, and Grant's words that morning, left Taylor feeling uncomfortable. He thought about calling Leonora several times but restrained himself each time.

Finally, at 7 p.m., as the evening sky darkened, Leonora finished her work and left the office, and Taylor did the same. Exiting the elevator and leaving the office building, Leonora turned right, heading for the subway, when she spotted Taylor sitting alone on a bench by the flowerbed, smoking, his car parked at the curb.

Startled to bump into Taylor, Leonora first jumped, then incredulously asked, "Taylor, what are you doing here?"

"Finished work?" Taylor asked, snuffing out his half-smoked cigarette.

"Yeah," Leonora replied, observing him, "What's this about?"

"Just bored," Taylor said, changing the subject. "You haven't had dinner yet, right? Let's eat together."
