Ava had left, leaving just Leonora and Taylor outside the restroom.
Noticing Leonora's sour expression, Taylor stepped closer, gently brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, and asked softly, "What brings you here?"
Despite feeling upset, angry, and wronged, Leonora kept her cool and replied, "Just needed to use the restroom."
The more she found out, the less she wanted to argue with Taylor. It was pointless. The more she caused a scene, the more she felt cheap and ridiculous.
"Go ahead then, I'll wait for you."
"Okay."
With a soft acknowledgment, Leonora walked past him toward the restroom. On the outside, she seemed calm, but inside, her heart was racing, and her body was trembling. A heavy weight pressed on her chest, refusing to lift.
If she had a knife in her hand at that moment, she could have stabbed Taylor without saying a word, venting the frustration and humiliation she had endured over the past two years.
When she came out of the restroom, Taylor was waiting by the door.
Leonora washed her hands, dried them with a paper towel, tossed it in the bin, and then headed back to their private dining room.
Taylor tried to grab her arm, but Leonora forcefully shook him off. "Don't touch me."
At this point, the mere sight of Taylor irritated and disgusted her. Especially when she thought of their intimate moments, she wanted to slap herself.
She blamed herself for not asking Grant about the reasons behind Taylor's revenge. This could have prevented the current awkwardness and embarrassment.
If there was anything she regretted in her life, it was getting to know Taylor and his uncle Grant.
Seeing Leonora's mood, Taylor didn't touch her, knowing he had indeed used her. So, shortly after they returned to their private room, Taylor decided to take Leonora home.
During the ride back, Leonora stayed silent, not questioning Taylor, just staring out the window, refusing to speak. It was as if her heart and soul had vanished at that moment.
"Leonora."
Taylor called her name, and with a slight frown and a hint of impatience, she replied, "Please, just let me have some peace."
Just hearing Taylor's voice made Leonora irritable. Seeing her reaction, Taylor's expression darkened, and he suggested, "Let's talk in Southbay."
Leonora didn't look at him or respond. If he wanted to talk, then they would talk!
Half an hour later, the car parked in the underground garage. Taylor, as usual, reached out to hold Leonora's hand, but she avoided him, crossing her arms defensively, denying him any chance to touch her.
She had come to Southbay intending to negotiate. If Taylor could read the room, if he could straightforwardly say it was over, then she would drop the matter. From then on, they would go their separate ways, strangers to one another.
