30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 509

Taylor's arms wrapped tightly around Leonora, and she instinctively looked up at him. Their eyes met, and she saw a hint of sadness in his gaze as he rested his chin on her shoulder. The look in his eyes made her feel a mix of amusement and an unspoken sympathy.

With her left hand clutching the fabric of his shirt and her right hand hovering uncertainly behind his back, she hesitated several times to touch and comfort him but ultimately held back. Despite his dominant demeanor, there was a sense of vulnerability about him.

Taylor didn't bring up Grant, and Leonora wisely chose not to ask. Otherwise, it would have led to another argument. Now, she was just waiting for Taylor's cue, ready to follow his lead and play her part in this drama until it was over. And then, she would walk away unscathed.

Thinking that her time with Taylor wouldn't last too long, Leonora finally let her right hand fall to his back, gently stroking to offer him comfort. Feeling her soothing touch, Taylor held her even tighter, his face pressed against hers. He kissed her cheek, moving towards her lips. When Leonora looked up at him, she said, “Taylor, I'm hungry. Can we eat first?”

Having heard that Grant had returned, Leonora was anxious about encountering him at the office, so she skipped lunch. Her admission made Taylor chuckle. He caressed her face, kissed her lips gently, and then ushered her to wash up for dinner.

At the dinner table, Leonora was mostly silent, eating her meal earnestly. After finishing, when Leonora started to clear the table and wash the dishes, Taylor didn’t stop her. He could tell that something was off with her mood today, that she was trying very hard to keep him company in this act. He hugged her from behind, staying close by her side throughout.

Once the dishes were done, Taylor swiftly carried her to the bedroom. After a passionate encounter, it wasn’t until Leonora cried out in pain that Taylor finally let her go. Seeing her motionless beside him, Taylor, sitting up, stroked her hair and asked, “Leonora, did something happen today?”

He had noticed her distraction since the phone call and couldn't help but suspect she had encountered Grant. He had approved Leonora's resignation the last time, knowing Thomas couldn’t stop Grant from returning early. It would have saved him from this dilemma. But now, with Grant back, he found himself unable to ask her to resign again. Clearly, he needed to find a way to keep her focused on him instead of being perpetually distracted.

Lying beside Taylor, Leonora shook her head with her eyes closed, “No, nothing.” Without bringing up Grant, and Leonora not saying anything, Taylor knew she would avoid any difficult discussions. After watching her silently for a while, Taylor rolled over and pinned her beneath him.
