30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 510

Grant's sudden call of "Arielle" left Leonora in a daze as she stared at him, completely taken off guard. It had been ages since she'd heard that name, so long that she'd nearly forgotten there was someone who used to call her that.

After a moment of staring, Leonora composed herself and greeted him with a formal, "Mr. Taylor." Grant called her Arielle, but she stuck to "Mr. Taylor," a far cry from the more intimate way she used to address him. Back then, she had no idea Grant was the company's CEO; if she had, their story might have turned out quite differently.

Grant's eyes visibly dimmed at her formal greeting. He took a step closer to her, then reached out, trying to touch her face. Instinctively, Leonora stepped back, avoiding his touch. Regardless of her current relationship with Taylor, she would keep her distance from Grant.

Leonora's avoidance felt strangely foreign to Grant. Despite his return, and her standing right in front of him, it seemed like they were more distant than ever. His Arielle no longer belonged to him.

Grant's sorrowful gaze made Leonora feel even more lost. When he had left without a word, she never imagined he'd reappear in her life, least of all calling her Arielle again. It was as if he had never disappeared for those two years.

Seeing her evade him, Grant said, "Arielle, when you have some time, let's sit down and talk." He knew his sudden departure years ago had hurt her deeply. He didn't expect to reconcile, but he wanted to clear the air. It hadn't been intentional.

Before Leonora could reply, someone approached them. She seized the moment to escape the conversation, saying, "Mr. Taylor, I need to get back to the office." With that, she hurried away, not waiting for his response. She had no desire to meet Grant alone or talk about the past. Their story was over.

If she were to meet with Grant, Taylor would make things difficult for her. As she hurriedly left, Grant watched her retreating figure. A nearby person greeted him, snapping him out of his thoughts. He nodded in acknowledgment and left as well. His visit today had been solely to see Leonora and try to arrange a time to talk. As he expected, she was distant and estranged. But he couldn't blame her; he had kept too many secrets when they were together.

Back at the office, neither Grant nor Leonora could focus on work. The peace in her heart had been disturbed by his return. In the following days, Taylor sought her out more frequently, twice asking her to his office, but Leonora didn't go. So every evening, he picked her up at the subway station, took her back to Southbay for dinner, stayed for his overtime work, and then drove her home at ten.

He never mentioned Grant, even though he had acted arrogantly in front of him, suggesting they have dinner together. He didn't discuss it with Leonora. In fact, he preferred that she not meet Grant at all, so even if the company was abuzz with talk, he kept silent. It was as if Grant didn't exist. He saw Leonora every day, more like he was guarding her, not giving her any spare time.
