30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 507

The next morning, just as Leonora was getting out of bed, her mom, Shania, called to ask why she was out so early.

At that moment, Taylor wrapped his arms around Leonora from behind.

Leonora glanced at Taylor and said, "Mom, I've got some work stuff today. Had to leave early."

On the other end of the phone, her mom said, "Alright, then just grab some breakfast outside."

"Okay, Mom." Leonora quickly ended the call, worried Shania might hear Taylor in the background.

After hanging up, Taylor smiled and kissed her cheek. "Leonora, why don't you move in with me?"

Leonora turned to face him. "Move in with you? You've seen how strict my parents are about checking up on me. How am I supposed to explain that to them?"

Taylor, still close to her face, said, "Just tell them you have a boyfriend and you're living with him."

Leonora didn't want to entertain the idea.

Were they officially in a relationship? What were his intentions, and what promises had he made? She doubted he had any clear idea himself.

Without delving too deep into that topic with Taylor, Leonora changed the subject. "Alright, no more chatting. I need to clock in on time." Then she added, "What should I wear?"

Eventually, she picked an outfit from her wardrobe that seemed fairly ordinary and not too expensive, and left the house with Taylor.

Not wanting her colleagues to see them together, Leonora had Taylor drop her off at the subway entrance so she could walk in alone.

"Leonora, you’re really splurging on yourself today, huh? That outfit must've cost you two months' salary."

"Be honest, Leonora, did you get a boyfriend? Did he buy that for you?"

No sooner had she clocked in at the office than she was surrounded by a few of her coworkers.

Hearing them mention the cost of her clothes, Leonora mentally cursed Taylor. She had said there was no need to wear anything bought by Taylor—it was a dead giveaway.

Facing the women, Leonora shook her head: "No, it's a knockoff."

Unsure how to explain further, Leonora gave a vague answer.

"A knockoff? It doesn’t look like it."

"Leonora, you’re still single, right? I could introduce you to my cousin."

As the women chatted, the conversation shifted to their bosses, all of whom were eligible bachelors.

Leonora was relieved when the topic moved away from her. That is until one of the women suddenly mentioned, "Did you hear? Grant's back. Someone saw him in the lobby this morning."

"Grant's back? That second executive director is like a ghost—now you see him, now you don’t. Although, I wonder if he's still single after these two years."

"Let's not even go there. Just mentioning Mr. Taylor makes me drool. You'd think our company would give us a chance!"

"You're brave. Why don’t you try making a move?"

At her desk, as Leonora was booting up her computer and heard them talking about Grant's return, her face changed color, and her hands instinctively clenched on the desk, her breathing slowed.

Two years ago, he had disappeared from her life without a word, leaving her to wonder if their six months together had been an illusion, if she had ever known someone named Grant at all.

Grant's identity as one of the company's executives and the second executive director was revealed only after he had left the company.

When the women found out, many regretted not pursuing Grant, missing out on a chance.

At that time, Leonora couldn't even blame him.

She felt inferior, thinking that maybe because she was ordinary, she didn't deserve to know his true identity or to be informed about the breakup.

And it was because of her relationship with him that Taylor had forced his way into her life.
