In no time, Leonora, in her pajamas and yawning, made her way downstairs, only to find Taylor already out of his car, standing just a few steps away from the entrance.
Seeing her yawn, a smile spread across Taylor's face, his gaze softening as it settled on her. With Taylor's expression, anyone could see how much he liked her.
Leonora rolled her eyes in response to his smile, annoyed that he had disturbed her sleep. As she approached, before she could even say a word, he gently pinched her chin and kissed her.
Ever since hearing that Grant was back, Taylor had been on edge. Seeing Leonora, who wasn't throwing a fit and had come down to see him, made him feel a bit more at ease.
After a lingering kiss, Leonora looked up at Taylor and said, "I was sleeping so well until your call woke me up."
Taylor stroked her cheek, "My bad, I disturbed your nap. Come on, let's head back to Southbay, and you can get some more sleep."
Leonora shot him a look, "You really have quite the appetite."
She had read online that twice a week was enough and that it wasn't good to go overboard in one night or too frequently. Clearly, Taylor exceeded those recommendations.
Her disdain made Taylor chuckle. Despite her usual quietness and gentle appearance, Leonora sometimes spoke boldly and directly, often making him laugh.
After laughing, Taylor said, "Other women wish their husbands had a stronger desire; you're lucky."
Leonora shot back, "Of course, you'd say that."
Taylor chuckled and took her hand, opening the passenger door for her to get in. Soon, the car started, and Leonora's sleepiness began to fade.
Occasionally glancing at Taylor, she noticed he seemed normal, yet there seemed to be something on his mind.
When they arrived at Southbay, Leonora had just changed her shoes when Taylor suddenly lifted her and carried her straight to the bedroom. Gently placed on the bed, Leonora wrapped one hand around his neck and the other on his face. The next second, Taylor leaned in to kiss her.
Accustomed to Taylor's kisses and their intimate moments, Leonora didn't push him away. Instead, she wrapped her arms around his neck and slowly closed her eyes.
Taylor was gentle and attentive, yet also assertive, always considering her feelings. Though Leonora had no other experiences to compare to, she knew he was special.
After their intimate moments, Leonora was exhausted, lying motionless on the bed, too tired even to breathe. Every time after being with Taylor, it felt like she had gone through hours of intense exercise, sometimes even thinking that sleeping with him was a form of cardio.
Seeing her lying on the bed as usual, Taylor gently pulled her into his arms, "Leonora, why do you always like to sleep on your stomach? It's not good for you."
Embraced by Taylor, Leonora lazily draped her arms and legs over him, "It's a habit."
It was a habit she had developed since she was young. Taylor's arms wrapped around her waist, "Then let's change that habit."
Leonora rested her face on his chest, closing her eyes without speaking. At some point, she had grown accustomed to Taylor's chest, to sleeping next to him, to burying her face there.
Touched by her compliance, Taylor kissed her forehead, his eyes filled with affection. After a while, Leonora slowly opened her eyes and said, "I have to go back."
Other than that one weekend, Leonora had never stayed overnight at Southbay in the past two years.
When she mentioned leaving, Taylor pulled her closer, kissed her forehead, and said, "What if I don't want to send you back?"
