30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 486

"Blake and the crew are so scared of getting chewed out, they don't even dare step into my office anymore," Taylor grumbled after smoothing things over with Leonora. He was venting about how the stress was getting to him.

Leonora stayed silent, listening closely.

In truth, she had seen the work group chats mentioning how irritable Taylor had been lately, snapping at anyone who approached him.

The office was on high alert, everyone walking on eggshells.

Leonora turned away without saying a word, prompting Taylor to kiss her cheek softly. "Leonora, I've never let anyone get to me like this before."

He wasn't lying.

Nestled in Taylor's arms, Leonora commented, "It's your ego. You're used to people bending over backward to please you. Since I didn't play that game, you're out of sorts."

Taylor chuckled, his hand wandering from her waist up her chest. "You understand people so well, yet you still want to call it quits with me. Are you..."

Before Taylor could finish, Leonora cut him off. "It's because I've had enough. I'm not as calculating as you think, and I wasn't playing the long game."

With that, she grabbed Taylor's wrist. "Stop pinching me; it's uncomfortable."

Taylor shifted slightly, looking at her with concern. "Does your chest hurt too? Maybe we should get that checked tomorrow."

"...I meant your pinching is uncomfortable," Leonora clarified.

Taylor burst into laughter, then continued to hold her close. "A few more hugs, a few more squeezes, and you'll get used to it."

They talked for a while longer. Taylor enjoyed holding Leonora, kissing her, touching her—it brought him peace.

During their conversation, Leonora reminded him twice that they needed to have a proper talk after she was discharged from the hospital.

Taylor agreed.

Though he was open to talking, if Leonora was aiming to end things, he didn't see much point in discussing.

Because, as far as Taylor was concerned, breaking up had never crossed his mind.

--

The next morning, despite her resistance, Leonora couldn't convince Taylor otherwise and ended up undergoing a full-body checkup. Thankfully, her health was generally good, and her lung inflammation was gradually improving.

After their talk, Taylor's mood improved significantly.

Returning to the office, he was all smiles, leaving everyone baffled about the sudden change in his demeanor. It was a mystery to them.

In the hospital, Leonora didn't dwell too much on it.

She knew she didn't have that much influence over Taylor.

He said those things just to appease her.

In the following days, Taylor spent a lot of time at the hospital, timing his visits so as not to coincide with those of her parents.
