30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 481

When Taylor questioned her, Leonora lifted her gaze and met his eyes directly. She didn't need to ask to know that Taylor was already aware of her blind date. He was fishing for a confession, to see if she'd come clean on her own.

Since he already knew, Leonora saw no point in hiding the truth. Looking him straight in the eye, she confessed, “I went on a blind date. My parents set it up, and I just couldn’t talk them out of it.”

Her admission instantly lit a fire in Taylor, especially the words "blind date," which seemed to grate on his nerves, making him visibly uncomfortable.

Still holding onto Leonora's hand, Taylor didn’t squeeze it anymore but kept his grip, looking into her eyes with a piercing glare. “Have you completely disregarded everything I’ve told you?”

Taylor vividly remembered the night he had spent explaining to her that few men were trustworthy these days, advising her to shelve the idea of marriage for now. Yet, here she was, doing the exact opposite of what he'd advised.

Leonora, too, was getting upset, particularly disliking the intensity in Taylor’s gaze. But this time, she wasn’t as intimidated. She didn’t retaliate but tried to explain patiently, “I couldn’t find a reason to say no to my parents, and it was just a dinner with no further contact.”

No sooner had Leonora finished speaking than Taylor’s temper flared. “Who the hell does he think he is, having dinner with my girl?”

The anger he had been suppressing all day finally erupted. Then he added, “Is that guy’s last name Green? Alright, he’s got the nerve, he even…”

Taylor’s fury made Leonora’s head spin. Abruptly pulling away from his grasp, she stood up from the couch. “Taylor, what are you trying to do? Stop this nonsense and don’t make a scene.”

Already in a foul mood, Taylor’s irritation only deepened at her reaction. He hadn’t even begun to express his anger towards her; it was that guy he was mad at, yet she was unyieldingly defensive?

Rising slowly from his chair, Taylor sneered coldly, “Me, making a scene? What am I trying to do? Leonora, seeing this attitude, are you defending him? Just a heads-up, before you think about defending someone else, weigh your own standing.”

The more Taylor spoke, the angrier Leonora got. She didn’t appreciate Taylor’s threats, yet he constantly resorted to them. And it wasn’t that she was defending that guy; she simply didn’t want Taylor creating trouble out of nothing, complicating matters unnecessarily.

Thus, she retorted with a glare, “Let me remind you, I was never your woman to begin with. If you hadn’t gotten me drunk, if you hadn’t forced me, there would’ve been nothing between us.”

“Who I have dinner with, who I go on dates with, it’s none of your business.”
