As Taylor finished speaking, everyone in the room looked up at him, their eyes filled with surprise.

"She's really okay with that?" Grayson asked, staring at Taylor like he'd just grown a second head.

Taylor took a drag on his cigarette and smirked. Consent? In his world, he got what he wanted. Besides, he didn't think he treated Leonora badly at all.

It wasn't about the gifts he lavished on her. He believed he was understanding and caring. No matter how much she nagged or caused a fuss, he never lost his cool. Instead, he always managed to calm her down.

After all, he wasn't known for his patience.

Taylor stayed silent, prompting Jason to chime in, "Just don't end up screwing yourself over."

From the few times Jason had seen them together, he could tell Taylor's relationship with Leonora was different from his other flings. There was a light in his eyes, a genuine happiness that was hard to miss.

Grayson smiled, "Already am, actually." He added, "She moved into the dorms last month to save on travel time. Now she gets an extra two hours of sleep. The real headache is, she doesn't want to study finance. Her top choice is law, followed by medicine. With her grades, she can pick any school."

Mentioning Angel brought a proud grin to Grayson's face. This was the fruit of his many years of hard work.

"Don't get too cocky, Grayson," Thomas interjected, "Once Angel starts college, she'll start dating, and then marriage isn't far off. You'll be heartbroken, waiting for the day you have to let her go!"

Thomas's words hit a nerve, and Grayson felt a pang in his heart. Time indeed flew by, and soon Angel would be off to college.

Grayson took a sip of his beer and muttered, "Time really does fly," prompting nods of agreement from Jason and Taylor. They were all north of thirty now, a realization that came with a mix of feelings.

The evening was filled with laughter, drinks, and a rare sense of relaxation until they finally parted ways in the early hours.
