Leonora's sudden move startled Taylor, making him gasp for air. "Geez, Arielle, aiming to knock me out here?"

Even so, Taylor didn’t push her away or scold her. Instead, he glanced outside the car.

At that moment, he saw Leonora's parents walking by, carrying grocery bags.

Then, she slightly lifted her head and asked, "Have my parents gone by?"

Taylor replied, "Not yet, they’re glued to the window watching."

Listening intently for any noise outside, and after a long while with no sound, Leonora realized she had been tricked by Taylor.

Immediately, she lifted her head and slapped Taylor: "Taylor, are you having fun fooling me?"

Seeing Leonora’s flushed face, Taylor burst into laughter, saying, "Fooling others isn’t fun, but fooling you is."

Leonora glared at him, looked behind to see no one at the car window – her parents had long gone home.

Then, turning back, she calmly said, "I’m going back inside."

Seeing Leonora about to leave, Taylor grabbed her wrist.

Leonora looked up at him.

Eyes locked, Taylor earnestly said, "Leonora, inviting you to stay in Southbay was because I wanted to spend time with you. Think about my proposal."

Taylor’s seriousness made Leonora catch her breath.

At that moment, Taylor was practically fishing for Leonora's attention, almost outright telling her he might have feelings for her, urging her to seize the opportunity.

After a long stare, seeing Taylor’s sincerity, and considering they were at her place, Leonora didn’t want to start a conflict and said, "I’ll think about it. You should head back and rest."

With that, she opened the car door and left.

Watching Leonora leave, Taylor’s face broke into a gentle smile.

Initially, his pursuit of Leonora was just to vent his anger, a form of revenge against Grant. He hadn’t expected to get so entangled with Leonora and even found himself reluctant to let go.

Thinking of Grant, Taylor’s expression cooled again, wishing that Grant would never return, never reappear in Leonora’s life – that would be for the best.
