30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 472

The twinkle in Taylor's eyes was met with a mock-disdainful glance from Leonora, but she couldn’t resist moving closer.

“Man, you're high maintenance,” she teased as she nestled into his embrace. “Always wanting to spice things up with a lengthy buildup and expecting me to play along.”

Once Leonora was comfortably settled in his arms, Taylor handed her a plate of assorted fruits.

“Knew you wouldn’t just sit quietly,” he playfully chided.

Leonora shot him a look, popped a piece of watermelon into her mouth, and grabbed the remote to continue watching her show.

“It’s broad daylight; the sun’s still up. I’m just not in the mood, not like you with your fancy tastes,” she grumbled, munching away.

Her casual snacking caught Taylor’s interest, and he watched her with amusement.

Leonora turned and playfully shoved a piece of melon into his mouth. “It's still light outside.”

“And I haven’t made my move yet,” Taylor retorted.

“...,” was all Leonora could muster in response.

She turned her attention back to the TV, and Taylor just held her close, gently kneading her hand. Even this simple contact seemed to relax him, a content smile playing on his lips.

Whenever the TV show made Leonora laugh, Taylor couldn’t help but join in, finding her silliness endearing.

After placing the fruit plate back on the table and leaning into him, Taylor softly inquired, “Hey, when I held your hand earlier, you seemed a bit reluctant. Was that the case?”

“Not at all,” she replied. “It just felt like something a ‘real’ couple would do.”

At her honesty, Taylor chuckled. “What makes us not ‘real’? Or is there someone else you’re seeing behind my back?”

Leonora turned to face him, her expression serious. “Me, seeing someone else? Come on, think about who you are. Would I dare? I’d be signing my own death warrant.”

She knew better than to mess around, hoping only to walk away unscathed one day.

Taylor, unfazed, teased her further. “Am I that terrifying?”

“If you weren’t, I’d have bolted already,” Leonora confessed. “I wouldn’t pick up your calls, and I certainly wouldn’t have come to Southbay with you.”

In a good mood, Taylor reveled in her blunt honesty.

Truth be told, Taylor had never truly forced her into anything, though Leonora had heard stories of how he dealt with those who crossed him—like the time a shareholder’s son messed up at the company and Taylor made sure he paid the price. If those with connections couldn’t stand against him, what chance did she, an ordinary girl, have?

“But you’re here, not running. Is it because... I’m good at what I do?” Taylor ventured with a sly grin, borrowing a line from their earlier banter.

Leonora chose to ignore his innuendo and pointed at the TV. “This comedy sketch is hilarious. You should watch.”

She wasn’t about to engage in his flirtations, especially not when he seemed to be hinting at wanting more. They had arrived in Southbay early, and she knew he had been desiring more from their relationship for two years now, a request she had yet to fulfill. She wasn’t about to start discussing it now.

Fortunately, Taylor respected her boundaries. If she didn’t want to do something, he wouldn’t press her.

Their relationship had changed the night they first got together. Taylor was shocked to learn she was a virgin, especially considering she had dated Grant for months without going that far.
