Leonora's words made Taylor burst into laughter.
"Why does this sound so familiar?" he wondered aloud. "Feels like I've said this before."
After a bit of fumbling, Leonora successfully hooked the earring through Taylor's earlobe, her face lighting up with a smile. "See? I told you your piercing hadn't closed up. It looks fantastic!"
Her eyes crinkled into joyful crescents as she admired Taylor's ear, like she was admiring a masterpiece she'd crafted herself.
Leonora's laughter was infectious, and Taylor found himself smiling too, his gaze seemingly glued to her face. He had a soft spot for Leonora's playful teasing, something he wouldn't tolerate from anyone else. Maybe it was the guilt he felt for having coerced her to stay by his side, knowing well she could've started a new chapter of her life, free from the tangled mess between him and his nephew.
So, Taylor showed an exceptional level of patience and goodwill towards Leonora, almost as if he reserved all his kindness just for her.
Observing Taylor's ear, Leonora mused, "Imagine what our coworkers would say if they saw you like this."
Taylor chuckled. "As if anyone else gets this kind of special treatment. You think they can mess around like you do?"
Leonora pouted in response to Taylor's laughter.
As she attempted to get off him, he quickly wrapped his arms around her waist, trapping her in place. "Leonora," he teased, "are you trying to seduce me?"
Leonora's eyes widened in shock. "Absolutely not."
Why would she bother seducing him out of the blue?
Seeing her reaction, Taylor playfully bit her collarbone. "Are you sure about that?"
Left speechless by his remark, Leonora realized she hadn't considered how her actions might be perceived, especially since he'd been intently watching her the whole time.
Caught in Taylor's hold, after a moment of thought, Leonora retorted, "Even if I wasn't seducing you, you'd still be unable to resist."
That comment drew a laugh from Taylor. "Oh, so confident?"
Before Leonora could respond, Taylor gently tugged at her clothes, revealing her skin to his eager gaze.
Leonora's breath hitched.
It wasn't until Taylor left a few marks on her skin that he finally laid her gently on the couch, the setting sun casting its warm glow throughout the room.
As Taylor continued his affections, Leonora grasped his arm tightly, "Taylor, stop, I can't do this."
