When Landon greeted him, Jason kept his cool and simply said, "Hey, Dad."

Despite all the complications between them, his love for Estrella was the priority. He didn't want to put her in a difficult spot.

Jason's casual "Hey, Dad" brought a sigh of relief from Kristin and Autumn, but it also tugged at their hearts. They couldn't help but think how much better things would be if it weren't for the whole Catrina mess—they could still be the family they once were.

After the pleasantries with Landon Cole, Jason had just settled down when his phone rang. It was a business call, of course. The living room was buzzing with talk about the baby and crowded with people, so Jason excused himself to the quieter sunroom to take the call.

Meanwhile, Kristin and Autumn were deep in conversation with Estrella about pregnancy, leaving Cole and Landon standing awkwardly. They decided to step outside.

Over the past couple of years, Cole had aged a bit, his hair now peppered with gray, while Landon's hair was almost completely white. As they strolled into the yard, their conversation was sporadic until Cole suddenly sighed, "Aiden came to see me."

Since their arrival in Ravenwood, Keith had been relentless, always scheming and dragging them into his dramas.

Landon's face darkened at the news. "He's putting the pressure on you because he can't deal with Estrella and Jason directly," he said.

Cole let out a weary sigh. "No matter what I say, he refuses to accept Estrella and Jason being together. He's hung up on the past, on Hans and Paloma's death."

"He even said he wouldn’t contest the baby, just wanted Isaac to be given to the River family."

Keith had a whole list of grievances, claiming that Hans and Paloma would never approve of Jason and Estrella from beyond the grave, and accusing them of being too domineering.

To Cole, these accusations were both frustrating and heartbreaking, but arguing seemed pointless.

So, he spared Landon the details to avoid further upset.

Landon, with a furrowed brow, asked, "Did you lay out the truth for Keith?"

"Of course, I did," Cole raised his voice slightly. "I told him everything, but Keith accused me of making things up, saying it's easy for me to say anything when the people involved aren't here to confirm."

Cole continued, "Eventually, I had no choice but to say I can't control Estrella or Jason. I told him I've already failed Jason once regarding his parents; stopping him from being with Estrella would make me less than human."

Cole was usually reasonable, but Keith's stubbornness pushed him to speak his mind. In the end, both men parted ways, simmering with frustration.

Feeling helpless, Landon lamented, "What a mess, eh? We try to consider all sides, yet end up shouldering all the blame."

With a heavy heart, Cole added, "All I hope for now is to find the person responsible and resolve this whole mess. It's unfair to Estrella and Jason, having this hang over them."

"And after all these years of twists and turns, it's our fault. We need to sort this out for them, sooner rather than later."

Acknowledging the strain on his relationship with Jason and his daughter's happiness, Landon admitted, "It's my fault."

Cole, trying to offer some comfort, said, "Don't take all the blame, Landon. You've done enough over the years, more than enough for Hans and Paloma."
