30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 415

Jason's warmth pressed against her cheek, his breath tickling her ear. Cradling a bowl, Estrella playfully coaxed, "Alright, alright, I only have eyes for you."

In that moment, Estrella's way of soothing Jason was just like how she'd comfort Isaac.

She glanced back at Jason, "Let go, will you? Otherwise, when am I ever going to finish washing these dishes?"

But Jason didn't release her. He simply closed his eyes and murmured, "I like you."

Estrella couldn't help but feel both exasperated and amused.

Once the dishes were done, Jason didn't waste a second, sweeping her off her feet and carrying her back to the bedroom. He wanted nothing more than to stay glued to Estrella forever.

Later, as they were getting ready to pick up Isaac from the Dorvold residence, Jason gently brought up, "Honey, Isaac's almost five. Maybe it's time for a sibling. Please, don't go behind my back with birth control."

Before Estrella could respond, Jason added, "I wasn't there for you when you had Isaac. Let me make it up to you this time."

Estrella approached, adjusting his collar, "Alright, you'll get your chance." She added, "But just so we're clear, I'm staying with you for a few days until you're stable without medication. Then I’ll go back to help Mom."

Jason wrapped his arms around Estrella, kissing her cheek, "Mhm, we'll go with your plan."

As long as he had a place in her heart, he'd follow her lead.

Their embrace was tender, Estrella lightly stroking his back, offering comfort and reassurance.

When they arrived at the Dorvold household to collect Isaac, Autumn, unlike before, showed no sign of reluctance, quickly helping Isaac pack his things. She reminded Estrella and Jason, "Isaac has a chess tournament tomorrow. Don't forget to take him."

"If you're unsure about anything, just call me."

Seeing Autumn pack an array of items, Estrella chuckled through tears, "Mom, it's just for a couple of weeks. We don't need all this."

Yet, her heart swelled with more gratitude and compassion than she could express.

Despite her reluctance to let them go, eagerly pushing them out the door for the sake of their happiness, Autumn was more proactive than anyone.

Estrella's comment didn’t sit well with Autumn. She stopped packing, staring pointedly at Estrella, "What do you mean 'a couple of weeks'? Don't bother coming back this time." She then turned to Jason, "And you, remember the promise you made me. I'm counting on you two to give me another grandchild soon!"

After a pause, she looked back at Estrella, "Don't worry about me. Watching the kids every day has worn me out. I'll take a couple of days off, visit the Sandalwood Oasis, spend some time with you."

Autumn had her future thoroughly planned out.

Estrella reassured, "Okay, Mom. If you miss me and Isaac, we'll come and pick you up."

Autumn quipped, "It's not that far, just a twenty-minute drive."

This time, Autumn seemed to have come to terms with their departure more than Estrella had.

As she watched Jason's car fade into the distance, with Isaac pressed against the window waving goodbye, Autumn couldn't help but tear up, the separation harder than she'd admitted.

But raising children meant watching them grow and eventually parting ways more frequently and for longer periods.

They couldn't forever shelter under her wings, nor could she shield them from every storm.

Life, after all, was theirs to live.

Wiping her eyes as Jason's car disappeared, Autumn turned back, laughing and joking with the house staff about taking a little vacation.
