Bryce held onto her hand tightly, not letting go, while Erik stood still, looking at him.
With Erik staying put, Bryce just gazed up at her. Then, he rubbed his face against her arm, "North, you're my wife now. The whole world knows it. From now on, if anyone messes with you, I'll deal with them."
Erik looked down at the drunken Bryce, "I'm no saint either, so you don't need to worry."
Bryce continued nuzzling, "North, can you believe Thomas actually tried to steal you from me? I mean, we've got the license, had the wedding, isn't he nuts?"
Erik replied casually, "Thomas is just messing with you."
As they chatted, Bryce suddenly looked up and asked, "North, I'm your husband from now on, right?"
Erik felt a bit shy at Bryce's sudden question.
Bryce pressed, "North, why aren't you saying anything? Don’t tell me you’re thinking of swapping husbands?"
Erik retorted, “Getting married once was exhausting enough, why on earth would I want to swap? No swapping.”
Bryce laughed and kissed the back of Erik's hand, "I knew it, you wouldn't fancy anyone else."
Erik sighed, "Are you done staring? If you are, I’m going to take off my makeup."
Bryce shook his head, "Not yet."
Seeing this, Erik let him hold her hand, not moving an inch. Bryce then pressed her hand against his face, dreamily saying, "North, shall we have kids?"
Erik, somewhat amused, replied, "Sure."
Hearing that, Bryce immediately stood up from the sofa. As he tried to pick her up, Erik quickly refused, "You're too drunk; I'll just go lie down on the big red bed by myself!"
She swiftly went to lie down on the bed. Soon after, Bryce came over, propped his right arm on the bed, trapping her in his embrace. He gently kissed Erik and slowly began to undress her, treating it like a sacred ritual.
After some foreplay, Bryce made his move but soon realized something was off. Erik, without moving, eventually reminded him, "You're not in." She added, "If you're too drunk, we should just rest."
"Impossible," Bryce raised his voice, only to try again and end up falling asleep on top of Erik.
Waking up in the evening, Bryce found Erik looking at him with disdain, which embarrassed him. It wasn't until later that night that he managed to redeem his pride, to Erik's vocal frustration, finally sheathing his sword with a smug look.
Exhausted, lying on the bed, Erik asked, "If you're useless when drunk, how did you manage it before?"
Bryce had never pondered this, but the stark contrast between the afternoon and the evening made Erik suspicious. Bryce pulled her into his embrace, "Who knows! We're married now, why dwell on the past?"
Erik's gaze turned sinister, feeling like she was being conned. Seeing her glare, Bryce tightened his embrace, "North, let's sleep."
Erik accused, "Bryce, did you trick me?"
"Never, I swear," Bryce insisted.
After Bryce and Erik's wedding, life went back to normal. Estrella, now with an assistant, found herself buried under more cases. Her new assistant, overly fond and clingy, always looked at her with admiration.
She was sure, if Jason saw how Sandy doted on her, he'd be jealous. Even though Sandy was a woman.
