Estrella turned her head, her voice dripping with playful annoyance. "Jason, outsmarted by a toddler? Maybe it’s time I found myself a new man.”
Jason, unfazed, chuckled. "I got outsmarted because he's my son. I didn’t see it coming." He added with a smirk, "The kid’s got the same tricks up his sleeve as you."
Their son, quietly plotting his next move, was truly one of a kind.
Trying to change the subject, Estrella complained, "Talk all you want, but why are your hands wandering? Don't make my boobs any smaller."
Jason grinned cheekily. "They’ll only get bigger the more I touch."
Shaking her head, Estrella warned, "You’d better not wake Isaac up with your antics. He’s just waiting to outsmart you again."
With that, Jason quickly placed Isaac back in his crib before rolling back towards Estrella.
The next morning, as they woke up, Isaac’s gaze was a mix of amusement and exasperation at finding his parents together again. It seemed he was seriously reconsidering his living arrangements.
Estrella couldn’t help but laugh at the look in Isaac’s eyes. She reached for him, inviting him to join their morning cuddles.
Though not entirely pleased, Isaac softened at Estrella’s gesture, deciding to compromise for the time being.
In the days that followed, Estrella juggled work and helping Erik with wedding preparations. Despite the Nelson family insisting she didn’t need to worry about anything, Erik felt it was important to prepare some basic essentials for the wedding, so they tackled it together.
Over a late-night snack after a day of wedding shopping, Erik broached a sensitive topic. "Your dad still won’t give the green light for you and Jason to get back together?"
Estrella sighed. "He’s probably just playing hard to get, making sure Jason really values what he has."
Sometimes, it’s the chase that keeps the flame alive, a truth well known.
Erik, ever the supportive friend, admitted, "I do hope you and Jason work things out."
Estrella smiled. "Me too. Nothing beats growing up together and truly knowing each other."
After their moment of shared dreams, Estrella inquired about Erik’s family. "What did your dad and Damita say about the wedding?"
