Sipping her coffee lightly, Estrella asked, "So, Holly got bailed out, huh?"

Korey nodded slightly. "Yeah. She's not in the best of health, so she was released on medical grounds."

Estrella let out a slow breath, not surprised or angry about the situation; she had seen it coming. The truth behind the fire only served to clear her name, but the one who suffered the most was Serene, who had no connections to shield her.

Estrella remained silent, and Korey added, "Estrella, Holly won't bother anyone anymore. You can be at ease about that."

"I know," Estrella replied softly. She had lost this battle, and lost it badly. She knew Holly was no longer a threat to anyone.

After dinner, Korey drove her back to the station. Estrella watched his car pull away, feeling that the whole affair had concluded too swiftly, too smoothly.

On the other side, after parting with Estrella, Korey returned to the Ledford family home. Just as he walked in, Holly, fresh from a shower and in new clothes, came downstairs. She had just been picked up from jail and had only just arrived home.

Seeing Korey, Holly gave him a fleeting glance, devoid of her former defiance, as if her spirit had been drained. Approaching her, Korey patted her shoulder, struggling to find the right words before finally whispering, "Holly, it's all behind you now. You've been through a lot."

Holly looked up at him. "Bro, maybe you're right. I shouldn't have come back."

As Holly spoke, Catrina couldn't help but tear up at the side. Holly saw this and hugged Catrina, reassuring her with a smile, "Mom, I'm okay. I'll make sure we have a good life from now on."

Holly's words only made Catrina more emotional, her tears flowing as she thought about her daughter's criminal record. Korey, standing by, felt helpless but was relieved that everything was finally over.

Meanwhile, in the hospital, when Estrella mentioned that Holly was sentenced to three years but got bailed out, Serene laughed bitterly from her hospital bed. Her laugh was laced with irony. Then, turning to Estrella, she said, "So, after all, it was just me being foolish, taking the fall for something I should have never dreamt of."

Serene's reflection was met with Estrella peeling an apple. "Once you're out of here, it's a new start for all of us."

Serene managed a bitter smile. "A new start for you maybe, but not for me!" She added self-mockingly, "Different circles, I guess I just can't blend in."

Estrella handed her the peeled apple, and Serene, taking it, asked, "Estrella, if it were the same situation again, would I save them? If it wasn't Jason, would I still be brave?"

She had wanted to find the culprit, but in the end, it was all just Holly's cruel game. Serene felt her trust in society had been shattered. Estrella simply watched her. After a moment, she advised, "Follow your heart."

Serene smiled.

Just then, Estrella's phone rang. It was Jason calling. After picking up, Jason asked where she was. Estrella told him she was at the hospital with Serene. When Jason asked if she had lunch with Jesse, Estrella hesitated before admitting it, feeling a bit guilty. Jason didn’t probe further, just mentioned he would pick her up after work, and Estrella agreed.

Serene, seeing them getting along, commented, "Love does need to be well-matched, huh!"

"You'll find someone who's right for you," Estrella responded.
