You Had Me, You Lost Me, You'll Never Find Me novel Chapter 92

He tilted his head, studying her. "Too bad. How are you going to explain this one?"

There was no pity in his gaze, only the thrilling amusement of watching a trainwreck.

Reina wiped her mouth furiously. "What is wrong with you?"

Connor just laughed. "It's fun."

She had never met such a psycho. Glaring daggers at him, she turned and fled.

When Ashton returned to the private booth, Tristan Hale had a new companion by his side.

Tristan had his arm wrapped around a gorgeous hostess, leaning in to share a mouthful of liquor. He looked like an absolute pro at this game.

Seeing Ashton walk in with a faint red mark on his face, Tristan loosened his collar and whistled.

"Wow, Ash. Things got pretty wild out there, huh?"

Ashton ignored him. His eyes were cold and indifferent, his mood anything but good.

A moment later, Reina returned. Her eyes were rimmed with red, and her lip was visibly busted.

Without a word, she sat down, maintaining a noticeable distance from Ashton.

Tristan and Luke Zane exchanged a look, smirking knowingly. Well, well. Looks like things escalated. Did Ashton kiss her so hard she cried?

That thought put Tristan's mind at ease.

He had always said that Ashton and Reina's bond, forged from childhood and tested over years, couldn't be shattered by some random girl.

That little actress actually had the nerve to fight Reina over a role. Honestly, Reina letting her act as a body double was doing her a massive favor.

Did she really think she could compete with Reina for Ashton's heart? She needed a reality check.

Seeing the awkward gap between Reina and Ashton—wide enough to fit three people—Tristan chuckled.

"What's wrong, Reina? Throwing a tantrum at Ash? Ash, that wasn't very gentlemanly of you. Kissing is fine, but why'd you bite her lip?"

His Collins glass was filled with an ice-blue cocktail. Ice cubes bobbed at the surface, and condensation beaded down the sides. It looked refreshing, but it packed a serious punch.

Unfazed, Connor continued, "That little actress of yours almost got a face full of acid. Did you know about that, Mr. Wyatt?"

Ashton's fingers froze mid-air. "What acid?"

His tone remained light, as if he barely cared.

But Reina's spine instantly stiffened, and she shot Connor a panicked glare.

Tristan toyed with the hand of the woman next to him, brushing it off. "There are a million starlets out there. How is Ash supposed to keep track of them all?"

Connor stared directly at Reina for a long moment before letting his words drawl out. "Sylvia Harlow."

He leaned deeper into the sofa. "Didn't you know, Mr. Wyatt?"

"I heard she nearly got splashed with acid a while back. She's been so terrified to show her face at events that she's looking at millions of dollars in breach of contract fees."
