He dragged her hand down, pressing it against his lean, muscular waist, right over the cold metal of his belt buckle. Sylvia jerked her hand back as if she'd been burned.
"Can't you show me even a shred of respect?" she choked out, her eyes rimmed with red.
His eyes burned even redder. He seized her wrist in a vice grip. "Haven't I respected you enough? You wanted to date someone else, and I let you. I even swallowed the humiliation of you parading him around. But now you think you can marry him? Do you think I'm dead?!"
By the end, his voice had risen to a roar, the last syllable trembling with raw fury.
Breathing heavily, Sylvia tried to wrestle free, but Ashton's grip was unrelenting. His gaze fell upon the diamond engagement ring gleaming on her left hand. The sight of it sickened him.
He ruthlessly yanked the ring off her finger and hurled it across the room. The glittering diamond bounced across the floor and vanished from sight.
"Planning on getting married?" he hissed viciously. "Don't even dream about it."
With one hand, he unfastened his belt buckle, his heavy-lidded eyes tracking Sylvia like a predator cornering its prey.
Terrified, Sylvia scrambled backward, instantly realizing what he intended to do. But before she could get far, Ashton clamped a hand around her ankle and dragged her right back.
"Did you really think you could run?"

Meanwhile, the news of the bride's disappearance at the wedding venue had exploded across the internet.
The public was in a state of mass confusion.
"This gossip is insane. The bride just vanished from her own wedding? The groom must be losing his mind!"
"Holy shit, did she get cold feet? How do you just walk away from a guy that gorgeous?"
"It wasn't cold feet. She literally got abducted. A fake convoy picked her up right before the real groom arrived."
"So someone hijacked the wedding?! Who the hell has the guts to pull that off?"
"...So nobody has any idea where Sylvia is right now?"
Shortly after, a leaked, shaky cell phone video surfaced online, clearly taken from a close vantage point.
It was the footage from the private party where Ashton and Julian clashed over Sylvia. It showed Ashton gripping her wrist, trying to drag her away, and the brutal brawl that ensued with Julian.
The moment the video dropped, the internet went nuclear.
"Front row seats! They actually threw hands?!"
