You Had Me, You Lost Me, You'll Never Find Me novel Chapter 72

Over his broad shoulder, Sylvia caught the shocked gaze of the housekeeper. Her mind went blank for a second. Filled with a mix of shame and fury, she leaned back as far as she could, desperately trying to dodge his kiss.

But Ashton didn't care. He pressed her down into the sofa and kissed her forcefully.

Sylvia had nowhere to retreat, her eyes filled with humiliated panic. Ashton kissed her for a long time until, amidst the friction of their lips, the housekeeper's voice tentatively interrupted, "Sir, dinner is served."

Ashton finally pulled back with lazy grace, acting as if they were completely alone. Still looking impeccably groomed, he reached out to smooth out Sylvia's crumpled white dress. The messy hem had ridden up her calves, revealing her smooth, luminous skin.

With a sharp slap, Sylvia batted his hand away and aggressively wiped her lips, looking thoroughly disgusted.

"Get away from me."

A cold smirk curled on Ashton's lips. "Didn't get enough? Want me to keep going?"

Sylvia couldn't understand his sudden obsession with kissing her. He used to hate it.

Glancing at the darkening night outside, she demanded, "Why did you bring me here? I want to go home."

Ashton unbuttoned his cuffs and scoffed. "Why do you think a man brings a woman to his place?"

Suppressing her rising temper, Sylvia reminded him, "You're about to get engaged to Reina!"

Ashton's eyes held a roguish, cynical glint. "What's your point? I never said I was calling off the engagement."

"..." Sylvia suddenly realized he was doing this on purpose. A burning sensation pricked her eyes. "Do you really have to humiliate me like this?"

She truly couldn't handle him treating her this way.

Ashton clearly saw the tears welling in her eyes, but he showed no pity, staring right into them.

"If you think this is humiliation, then consider yourself humiliated."

He reached out and snatched her phone. "Eat first."

Sylvia was starving, but she forced herself to ignore him, turning her head away.

Ashton's eyes narrowed dangerously. He gripped her chin and forced her to look at him.

Even if she swallowed her pride and asked the housekeeper how to leave, the woman flat-out ignored her.

By the time Ashton stepped out of the bathroom, Sylvia was sitting obediently at the table, eating her food.

Seeing him, the housekeeper handed him a phone. "Ms. Winslet just called."

Ashton took the phone and dialed back, his tone instantly softening.

"What's wrong?"

On the other end of the line, Reina sounded choked up. "Ash, thank you so much for this. If it weren't for you, I don't know how badly they would have smeared my sister's name. And my... my legs. They're going to mock me forever."

At the mention of Rebecca, Ashton's expression dimmed slightly. "Ignore them. I'll find the best doctors in the world for you."

Reina's voice still held a trembling sob. "I'm too scared to even look at the comments online. I'm terrified. Ash, can you come keep me company?"

Ashton paused and threw a glance at Sylvia. "Don't overthink it. Get some rest."
