You Had Me, You Lost Me, You'll Never Find Me novel Chapter 142

Right at that moment, the reality show Sylvia was participating in, *Campfire Chronicles*, stirred up unexpected drama online.

The show's broadcast was naturally delayed, so by the time the fourth episode aired, a brand new trending topic shot to the top of the charts.

"Sylvia Harlow intentionally feeds Zoe Meade mango, causing allergic reaction!"

In the viral clip, Sylvia was seen feeding Zoe a piece of mango. Zoe flashed a hesitant, troubled expression, but Sylvia seemingly forced her to eat it just to complete a task.

The parts where Zoe explicitly claimed she loved mangoes, and the moment she accidentally spilled scalding tea on Sylvia's hand, were entirely edited out.

It was a classic malicious editing trick utilized by production teams. The production crew had even bought the negative trending topic in advance to boost ratings.

Ellie Ward was furious when she saw it. "This is completely unacceptable! The production team is so hypocritical. They know exactly what happened, yet they deliberately edited it to mislead the audience."

Sylvia was equally livid. The most disgusting part was how the team had spliced her interactions with Zack Zane. They took her facial expressions and gestures from a conversation with Sydney Brooks and superimposed them onto her exchanges with Zack.

Even clips of her blushing shyly over something entirely different were edited to look like she was swooning over Zack's words.

They made it look as though she harbored a secret crush on him.

Because everyone interacted with each other throughout the show, moments like that were inevitable. Sylvia even had a specific segment where she had to feed fruit to every single cast member, which gave the editors plenty of raw material to manipulate.

What Sylvia didn't know was that Zoe only secured her spot on the show because her billionaire backer was a primary investor. She had bought her way into the cast.

Eager to please their financial backer, the production team happily complied with the deceptive editing.

Naturally, they weren't afraid of offending Sylvia. Everyone in the industry knew she had no powerful backing.

Penelope Caldwell's team immediately went into crisis management mode, but they struggled to hold back the flood of Zoe's outraged fans.

"Sylvia is absolutely toxic! Was she trying to murder her? Couldn't she see that Zoe clearly didn't want to eat it?"

"She is throwing herself at Zack so obviously! Can she stay the hell away from our guy?"

"Why the hell is she blushing? She doesn't blush when she talks to anyone else. Such a manipulative pick-me."

Recognizing who it was, Sylvia immediately replied with polite deference. "Hello, Ms. Preston."

Harriet Preston didn't bother with pleasantries. "Do you have time right now? I want to meet with you. I'm at the coffee shop downstairs from your apartment."

"I do, but it might take me about forty minutes to get back. I—" Before she could explain her schedule, Harriet cut her off.

"As long as you have time. Get here as soon as possible."

Her tone carried an undeniable, commanding finality.

Sylvia hurriedly wrapped up her appointments and rushed over, her chest tightening with nervous anticipation. She pulled out a compact mirror to touch up her makeup and asked Ellie if she looked presentable.

Once she was sure everything was in order, she arrived at the coffee shop.

Harriet had already been waiting for a while. She was on her phone, speaking with the effortless authority of a seasoned corporate executive.
