In her panic, Sylvia bit down hard on his tongue. Ashton flinched from the sharp pain, pausing for a split second before his kiss turned even more punishing. He bit down on her bottom lip, leaving a bruise. She tasted the metallic tang of blood but had nowhere to run.
Outside, Reina and her friends were still lingering.
"Maybe you saw wrong. He's not here," one of the women said.
"Impossible. I saw a guy wearing the exact same clothes as Ashton."
Reina spotted a watch resting on the booth table. "This watch? This is his. He was just here."
This particular booth was tucked in the corner of the dance floor. It had no exit, only a staircase leading to the second floor, but they hadn't seen anyone go up.
Sylvia breathlessly pushed against Ashton's chest, terrified to make a single sound.
"Serving two men at once, do you think you can handle that?" Ashton murmured wickedly against her ear. "Say I'm your husband."
He was pure evil.
"No."
Ashton raised an eyebrow and slid his hand higher. Her meager strength was absolutely useless against him. He began to move his hand, looking down at her reaction with a lazy stare. "Are you going to say it?"
Tears instantly spilled down Sylvia's cheeks. He was pushing her entirely too far.
Outside, Reina noticed the closet door and tried to push it.
"What's in here?"
She jiggled the handle, but it wouldn't budge. It was locked.
Her voice filtered clearly through the thin door; every single word was audible.
Which meant if they spoke at a normal volume inside, Reina would hear them perfectly.
Ashton's behavior grew even more predatory as he breathed against her neck. "If I open this door right now, what do you think will happen?"
As he spoke, his free hand settled heavily on the doorknob. His expression turned dead serious.
Sylvia didn't doubt for a second that he would actually do it. Her breath hitched, her heart leaping into her throat as she stared at him in desperate pleading.
He looked back at her with absolute indifference.
"Say it."
Drained of the energy to argue, Sylvia shakily adjusted her ruined clothes. He had completely unhooked her bra, leaving faint, bruising marks on her skin. The sight made her want to sob all over again.
In stark contrast, he looked immaculate. Only his collar was slightly askew.
As she fixed her top, he watched her with a scandalous, predatory gaze.
Flustered and angry, she snapped, "What are you looking at?"
Leaning lazily against the wall, Ashton replied smoothly, "Just admiring how beautiful my woman is."
He emphasized the words deliberately. Sylvia pressed her lips together and frowned. "Ashton, why have you become so obnoxious?"
He already had a fiancée, yet he was doing things like this, acting as if he had zero boundaries.
Ashton held her gaze and offered a slow, deliberate smile.
"Obnoxious? Good. Why the hell should I let you happily marry someone else?"
"Pretending to love me while cheating behind my back, isn't that what you do best? Now you've just swapped out the target."
