You Had Me, You Lost Me, You'll Never Find Me novel Chapter 115

She knew Ashton was the type to do exactly what he said. If he really demanded a replacement, any slight delay would leave the magazine with a blank page, and there was no way the publication would risk that.

“Ashton, it's not right for you to treat me like this, is it? I belong to Harvey Sutton.”

Ashton seemed to pause in thought for a second before raising an eyebrow. “Oh, Harvey Sutton. And? What does you sleeping with him have to do with me?”

Seeing Ashton's utter lack of concern, Yasmine's heart sank. “Are you just going to throw your weight around like this?”

Ashton smiled, a genuine laugh.

“So what if I'm throwing my weight around?”

“Weren't you doing the exact same thing earlier? You can bully others, but no one is allowed to bully you. You can't be this hypocritical, right?”

His words were loaded, making it crystal clear that he was standing up for “someone else.”

Yasmine glared coldly at Sylvia, who was watching from the sidelines. For some reason, Yasmine felt incredibly bitter and mocked, “Did she go crying to you? She's already with someone else, and you still want her? Since when did Ashton start settling for sloppy seconds?”

Ashton shot her a look. “And how many hands have you been through? Do you want me to announce it to the public?”

When Yasmine was with Harvey, she had only heard rumors that Ashton was a loose cannon. She never imagined his temper was this bad, or that his mouth was this venomous, tearing people down without leaving a shred of dignity.

Seeing that Ashton was dead set on protecting Sylvia, she knew she wasn't going to win this battle today. She had no choice but to swallow her resentment and angrily lead her five assistants away.

Once they were gone, Ashton looked down at Sylvia.

“Are you stupid? Why did you just stand there and let her bully you?”

Sylvia put her phone away, her voice indifferent.

“Aren't you the one who bullies me the most?”

Ashton raised an eyebrow. “True. I could bully you even more. Want to try?”

Sylvia took a deep breath, refusing to engage with him.

Ashton followed behind her, only to watch Sylvia jog toward another man with quick, small steps.

Ellie even glanced back at Ashton with an apologetic look, but Sylvia never turned around once.

Julian Sterling had come to pick Sylvia up, holding a raspberry cake. He took a few quick steps to meet her, said something with a smile, and handed her the cake. Sylvia took it immediately, her face lighting up with a bright, happy expression.

They weren't far away. Ashton stood by the roadside watching them, as if watching a silent film.

He stood frozen in place, his eyes lowered as he watched the intimate couple nearby.

A dark, smoldering flame began to rise in his chest, the night casting his pupils in a pitch-black abyss.

Just then, a pleasantly surprised female voice rang out.

“Ash! Are you here to pick me up?”
