“Too late, he’s on his way” lan muttered, hanging up the phone. He sat belide Noah on the floor and asked, “What’s wrong? You can’t just barge in my house, smelling like the bottom of a sewer. What will Felicity think when she sees you
“I don’t want to hear her name” Noah snapped at lan
“Oh, so this about Felicity” lan noted.
“I don’t want to talk about it.” He replied.
like this?”
lan sighed, respecting his wishes for now. He would pry later, “Okay, then pour me some.” He too started drinking.
A couple of minutes later, the doorbell rang and lan let Axel in.
“I brought Chinese food. Axel announced as he settled on the floor with three plastic bags, joining them. The three men ate in silence till no food was left.
Axel and lan exchanged glances during the meal trying to figure out what was wrong. This persisted until Noah finally broke the silence, “I can feel you guys staring
“We are only staring because you look like a mess. Do you mind explaining why you are wasted when you have work early tomorrow?” Axel asked.
“I think he fought with Felicity” lan interjected.
Axel’s eyes sparkled with curiosity, “Really? I thought the day would never come. What did
I you do?”
“Why do you think I did something?” Noah shot back, glaring at them.
“Because you are sitting miserably on my floor. She must have kicked you out of the house, didn’t she?” lan quipped, prompting laughter from both him and Axel.
“Can you imagine getting kicked out of your own house? That’s the reason I’ll remain single,” Axel said to himself with at laugh. “If our enemies saw you right now, they would die from laughter.”

Neah let our dry laugh “On the contrary, she is doing splendidly, having fun with her ex lover.”
“What lan and Axel exclaimed simultaneously in disbelief.
“Yes, that’s right. She cheated on me. I saw her kissing that Caster He spat
Ian and Avel exchanged a glance of doubt. Felicity wouldn’t do that.
“I’m sure there is a misunderstanding. Felicity wouldn’t cheat on you” fan assured him.
“But she did. I saw it with my own eyes. He replied, bitterly, taking another swig from his glass.
“There must be some sort of explanation. What did she say?” lan asked.
Noah shrugged, “I didn’t want to hear anything she had to say. I can’t even stand her right now. She’s a liar.”
Ian didn’t know what more to say and glanced at Axel for help, but Axel’s response took a different turn.
“Why do you care if she cheats on you anyway? I thought it was a marriage of convenience.” He asked bluntly, earning a hard punch in the stomach from Ian. He winced, throwing him a glare before turning to Noah, “But seriously, if it’s just a business. arrangement, why are you so torn up about it? I’m not wrong. Answer me.”
Noah gritted his teeth, “Because it’s a marriage of convenience doesn’t give her the right to cheat on me. We had a deal.”
“Then end the deal and stop wallowing in self pity,” Axel told Noah but he looked away with a grimace. Seeing this, Axel smirked, “Stop deceiving yourself, dear cousin. If you considered this a marriage of convenience, you wouldn’t be drinking yourself to stupor right now. You have feelings for her, don’t you?”
I do not. Noah retorted.
“Noah, I’m afraid no one is buying that, lan added, agreeing with Axel, “It’s pretty obvious you like her. Even the employees. at the office suspect something.”
Noah gazed at both of them in disbelief, searching for words to defend himself but finding none. He finally sighed in resignation. He couldn’t deny it anymore, he did have feelings for her. What a mess.
“It doesn’t matter anymore. She loves Caster.”
Axel sighed, rolling his eyes, “Felicity doesn’t love Caster. I saw the look in her eyes when she gazed at Caster at that party. It was pure hatred, like she wanted him dead. Why would she kiss the dead?” Axel said it like the absurd thing in the world. He continued, “Look, I’m not Felicity’s biggest fan, but deep down in that black, hard, ugly heart of hers, she does care about you.”
Ian gaped at Axel in disapproval, “Does your mouth not have a filter?”
“What?! It’s the truth” Axel argued, “What I’m trying to say is that as much as I don’t like Felicity, I don’t believe she did this. In other words, go and make up with your wife.
Noah sighed in exhaustion as the alcohol started getting to him. He couldn’t process anything either of them were saying and just wanted to sleep.
“I’m going to 1 te muttered, standing up to go to lan’s room.
“Where are you going? You aren’t sleeping on my bed,” Ian rose to stop him, blocking his path. “You may pay my salary, but in this house, I’m the boss

“Why can’t we just share the bed?” Axel suggested, draping his hand around both their shoulders, leading the to lan’s room. He had been here numerous times, so he knew the way around the house. They all did.
“No, we aren’t sharing my bed and you’re lying on it,” Ian threw his arms up in frustration as the two cousins collapsed on his bed. He tried to push them off but to no avail. With a resigned sigh, Ian eventually gave up and joined them on the bed.
As they lay there together, memories of their childhood flooded back, bringing a sense of warmth and nostalgia. This was a common occurrence for them then.
“Do you want me to kill Caster? He was the one who sent those men to follow you,” Axel’s voice sliced through the silence with a playful seriousness.
“Tempting, but butt off. I can take care of him myself.” Noah answered.
lan chuckled at the both of them. And in the silence, they all slowly drifted to sleep.
