Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 52

Chapter 52
“Right, hubby?”
Felicity’s words kept playing on Noah’s head like a bell. This was the first time she had called him so endearingly, and it left him astonished for a moment.
At some point, Axel had left, after clearing their table of food. It appeared he came to make trouble and eat. Noah chose to let him leave without confrontation, knowing they would address the matter later.
Throughout the drive, Noah found himself stealing glances at Felicity, who sat peacefully in the driver’s seat, her gaze fixed on the city lights. She had surprised him tonight.
“Stop staring,” Felicity murmured softly, sensing his gaze. “Are you upset that I confronted your cousin?”
Noah responded bluntly. “Axel can go
fuck himself.”
Felicity sighed, shifting her gaze away from the bustling streets. The car fell into silence, a rare moment that Felicity savoured. Her life was consistently chaotic, and she knew it would remain so until she accomplished what she set out to do.
What she didn’t know was that the havoc she prepared for was just the tip of the iceberg.
“What was Axel really ranting about? I saw the look on your face. What are you hiding?” she questioned tiredly but seriously. Noah kept his eyes on the road, his jaw clenched. “I’ll tell you if you tell me what you’re hiding.”
Felicity replied without hesitation, “Never mind”
Noah chuckled lightly at her response, expecting her reluctance to share.
Suddenly, Felicity’s phone chimed with a message. Her eyes widened as she read it.
[Felicity, we’ve been played. Don’t wait for me. Take a flight to City Z now! Your shoot with Everspring is tomorrow. morning!!
“What in the world?” Felicity exclaimed at the bizarre text from Lilian. This couldn’t be a joke; Lilian wasn’t one to joke about serious matters. “Oh, my God, I need to go to the airport now!”
Noah looked confused, “What’s going on?”
She clenched her teeth. “My shoot with Everspring is tomorrow morning in City Z, and I was just informed! How am I going to get there in time? It’s almost midnight, and it takes over an hour to get there. Not to mention that there might not be a plane going there now. I can’t go unprepared”
“You look alright to me, Noah remarked casually.
Felicity paused, stunned by his words. “I appreciate the compliment, but it’s highly unprofessional if I arrive dishevelled.”
“It’s the fault of the Everspring agency. Why didn’t they inform you sooner? Is this how they run their agency now?” Noah’s frustration was evident in his tone.
I don’t know. I will get the details later, but for now, I really have to be in City Z.”
“Wait a minute,” Noah said, reaching for his phone with one hand while keeping the other on the wheel. He spoke into the phone for a moment before hanging up. “It’s handled. Don’t worry.”
Chapter 52
Felicity furrowed her brow-in confusion. “What do you mean it’s lone?”
Noah didn’t answer.
Ten minutes later, they arrived at the estate, and Felicity was surprised to see a helicopter parked on the roof of their home. And standing in front of their house was a familiar figure.
“Lilian? What are you doing here?” Felicity exclaimed as she hurried out of the car towards Lilian, who was holding two pieces of luggage.
my
“I sent men to pick her up.” Noah answered stoically. “We’ve prepared everything you need. The helicopter will take you
my private jet, which will then take you to City Z for your shoot. I’m sorry I won’t be able to join you.”
Felicity was stunned, to say the least. He had prepared everything with just a thirty-second call. Truly remarkable.
Nonetheless, she was touched. Missing the shoot would have been detrimental for her, and she was glad she was able to avert this conspiracy.
“Do you want me to deal with Everspring accordingly?” Noah asked, gazing at her seriously.
“No, I will handle it, she gave him a grateful smile. “And thank you for everything. I owe you one.”
“We are husband and wife. You don’t owe me anything, he replied.
Felicity gave him one last look before getting into the helicopter with Lilian. She continued to stare at him until the helicopter rose, and they could no longer see him in the night.
“You live in Wryfield estate now? Lilian asked with wide eyes. “You didn’t tell me. You really hit the jackpot. I thought I was being robbed when I saw his men arrive at my door…” Lilian rambled.
“What happened with Everspring?” Felicity interjected.
Lilian suddenly stopped talking, her expression turning dark. It was that brat Vivian. She told the agency that her manager was going to inform us about the shoot and they have to worry. She was planning on making us miss it. Fortunately, the shooting time was moved up by an hour, and the agency called to inform me. Only then did I realise that the shoot was
tomorrow.”
Clicking her tongue, Felicity shook her head. Vivian, Vivian, Vivian… she was starting to get on her nerves. It was about time she took care of that obstacle.
Lilian shuddered when she saw the dark look Felicity was giving off. She had spotted a similar look when she gave Rita the drugged drink.
Shaking her head, Lilian sighed. She had a feeling Vivian might not stay in the spotlight for long.
She suddenly remembered something and asked, “How did you take care of that makeup artist who leaked your contract?” “Don’t worry about that. I have put her to good use,” Felicity replied. “How did you find out she was the snitch anyway?” “Oh, my friend in the filming crew heard her secretly talking to someone on the phone about it. She found it suspicious and reported it to me when I inquired,” Lilian answered. “Vivian must have gotten wind of it after that.”
Lilian wasn’t aware that Mariam was, in fact, directly working for the Walkers, and Felicity planned to keep it that way.
She didn’t want to drag the innocent lady into her mess. If something happened to Lilian because of her, she didn’t know what she would do. She might not be able to live with the guilt.
