Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 50

Chapter 50
Caster was going through some paperwork when Georgia’s call came through. A look of irritation briefly flashed through his eyes as he read the caller ID.
He sighed, picking up the phone. “What is it?”
“Babe, there’s someone you need to investigate.
He paused what he was doing and leaned against his chair. “Who”
“Felicity just got into a car with a man. They seemed to be really close, she emphasised the word ‘close’. “I think he may her sponsor.

Caster immediately sat upright when he heard this. He still remembered how this mystery man had tried to run him over, and he wanted to know who dared to do that to him
This man had been ruining his plans from the very beginning. If not for his incessant meddling in Felicity’s life, he was sure she would have run back to him for help by now. It was about time he took care of the pest.
“Do you know who he is?” Caster asked, his voice laced with slight urgency.
“No, I wasn’t able to get a clear view of his face.” Georgia murmured, disappointed. Tm sorry.”
Caster agitatedly massaged his forehead. He couldn’t believe she had missed such an important detail.
“Felicity is your cousin. Can’t you ask her about him?”
“You know me and Felicity aren’t on good terms after what happened.”
“Well then, snoop around, follow her, just do something. Find out where she lives for now and leave the man to me,” he ordered before hanging up.
As soon as he hung up, his face scrunched up in pain, and he grabbed his abdomen, the veins in his hands bulging in the process. There were sheens of sweat on his forehead showing his discomfort.
He quickly reached into his drawer and swallowed some pills, the routine of it all a grim reminder of his deteriorating health. He endured the pain for some minutes before finally heaving a sigh of relief when it subsided.
This was almost a daily occurrence for him now, but he still hadn’t gotten used to the pain; instead, it became worse. It was a constant reminder of the cost he would pay if he didn’t get Felicity back.
That cost was his life, which was gradually nearing its end.
His eyes fell on Felicity’s picture sitting in his drawer. It was a very old picture. Felicity looked so young and vibrant as she grinned at the camera, holding a cupcake. It was her eighteenth birthday, a time before they had started dating, before the complexities of their relationship had taken root.
He picked up the picture and scoffed. For years, he had put so much into this… into her, and he couldn’t let all his hard work go down the drain like this. Not now when he needed her the most.

“You slippery fox, the fun was only about to start, so why did you leave?” He muttered, gazing fondly at her picture, smile forming at the corner of his lips, but it slowly disappeared, replaced with a frown. “I’ve spent so much. No man can have you. You are mine

He brought out another phone and dialled a number. Bringing it to his car, he said. “Take your men, there is someone I need you to follow.”
With those simple words, he hung up before texting some details to the receiver. After that, he placed the phone back and continued his work as if nothing had happened.
Meanwhile, in a private restaurant.
Felicity and Noah were in a secluded room, ordering an array of dishes. The ambiance was perfect for the evening.
Noah ordered a plethora of dishes for her, which amused Felicity.
“You’ve ordered enough. I can’t finish all of them.”
“You need to eat more. You’ve become skinny.
“And what’s wrong with being skinny? I’m an actress, my figure is everything, I can’t afford to gain weight. No one would like
me.”
“I would like you,” Noah answered honestly, winking at her.
Felicity’s heart skipped a beat for a moment. “You’re not serious. No one likes a fat and ugly woman,” she muttered, recalling her past struggles with body. Caster didn’t even spare her a second glance after she let herself go, and Georgia didn’t miss a chance to point out all her insecurities.
Noah chuckled, giving her an earnest look. “You can never be ugly in my eyes. I think you would be cute, chubby,” he said, pinching her cheeks playfully, but she quickly slapped his hands away.
“You’re just saying that.”
I’m serious. If it bothers you so much, the least I could do is become fat like you. That way we would be the perfect-sized couple.
Felicity’s eyes raked down his perfectly sculpted body. He would give up all this to match with her if she got fat? Unbelievable.
She only smiled as the waiter brought in all the food. Noah took her plate and gave her a big portion of everything on the table.
“Eat,” He ordered.
Taking a bite of the spicy chicken, she moaned at the burst of flavours. The chicken was so tender that it almost melted in her mouth. Simply perfection.
Noah stiffened at the sound that escaped her lips and gulped. His eyes fell on her rosy lips as she munched some reason, she looked more attractive than she usually did.

He wanted nothing more than to capture those lips with his. He wanted to taste them again like be did that night and even more. He wanted to be the only reason she moaned. He wanted him to be the only name she called.
These were the thoughts that consumed him every night when he slept next to her. But he couldn’t act on them, not yet. There was still something missing, something preventing him from fulfilling all his fantasies of her.
It was the invisible wall between them built from all the secrets they held from each other, creating a boundary that none of them could cross, fearing the consequences of what might happen when they do.

Felicity caught his intense gaze and asked, “What?”
Noah wasn’t embarrassed that he was caught. Instead, he held her gaze, unwavering, and said, “You are mesmerising.
For what felt like the umpteenth time today. Felicity felt her heart skip a beat, and her stomach fluttered with butterflies. She had never reacted to anyone like this before, not even Caster. What was this man doing to her?
“Thank you,” she murmured, her cheeks flushed. She didn’t know the last time she felt this shy.
Suddenly, their sweet time was interrupted when the door opened, and an unexpected guest waltzed in.
“Hello, cousin!”
