Chapter 41
It finally clicked on Jonah. The reason all this was happening to Him was not because of the countless women he had raped, it was because of the woman he met tonight.
It was because of Felicity. She was the only one who managed to escape and broke his toe.
His eyes widened with disdain as he glared at Noah. “Felicity sent you?” he sneered. “I never laid a hand on her. She was the one who threw herself at me.”
Noah seared another cigarette into the fleshy at the centre of Jonah’s wrist. “I will burn every lie from your body. Let these scars serve as a reminder of the lives you’ve shattered.”
“Please,” Jonah pleaded. “I admit I assaulted her, but I swear I won’t go near her again. Just let me go.
“Do you know what you’re going to do? You’ll resume filming as usual, and once that’s wrapped up, you’ll turn yourself in to the police and face the consequences of your crimes, Noah stated firmly.
Jonah remained silent, prompting Noah to raise an eyebrow. “What, you don’t want to do it?”
I’ve already promised to stay away from Felicity. What more do you want? My entire life would be ruined, Jonah replied wearily.
“You should have thought about that before your actions,” Noah retorted, rising to his feet. He smirked, “Remember, the Elsworths are watching you.”
Jonah’s tired eyes shot up at the mention of the name. Unimaginable fear travelled down his spine. He was even more scared. than when the hammer first came down at his foot.
The Elsworth family was a household name, known for their ability to shape destinies with a mere word. They could make you or destroy you in a day.
As the realisation hit him, Jonah couldn’t believe it. Was this person from the Elsworth family? How was Felicity connected to them?
Regret flooded Jonah as he realised his mistake. He shouldn’t have gotten involved with her. Now, misfortune had befallen
him.
He bowed his head in dismay. If he didn’t comply with Noah’s instructions, he feared the consequences could be even worse. “I understand,” he muttered.
“Good, lan, take care of the rest,” Noah instructed before exiting the room, leaving behind the echoes of Jonah’s screams as Axel followed.
It was nearly midnight when Noah returned to the Estate. Felicity was still awake, engrossed in her script. The director had just confirmed that filming would resume the next day.
“Where were you?” Felicity inquired as he entered the room, her brow furrowing at the odour clinging to him. “Were you smoking?”
Noah immediately regretted not changing his clothes before returning, sensing her disapproval. “I smoke occasionally when I’m stressed. I had some matters to attend to.”

“Matters? After storming off like that?”
“I needed some air, Noah sighed, joining her on the bed. With a concerned gaze, he gently took her arm and rolled up the sleeve of her pajamas.
Felicity watched him, bewildered by his actions,
Noah continued rolling up her sleeves until the bruise came into view. “Did you apply any ointment?” He asked, and she shook her head.
“It’s not that serious. It’ll fade in a day or two,” she reassured, attempting to pull her arm away, but he held it steady.
With a determined focus, he retrieved ointment from the nearby cupboard and carefully applied it to her skin. As he observed the bruise, rage surged within him once more. He should have dealt with Jonah more decisively!
Sensing his tension, Felicity gently placed her hand on his shoulder. “It’s okay. It doesn’t hurt.”
Noah nodded softly, setting down the ointment. He tenderly brushed strands of hair from her face before holding her gaze firmly. If someone hurts you again, tell me. I’ll take care of it. Okay?”
I appreciate your concern, Noah, but I can handle myself, Felicity asserted, unwilling to be treated like a child or to owe anyone anything.
She also didn’t want any emotional attachments to Noah, as she believed their marriage would eventually dissolve. A relationship like theirs was meant to be temporary, and she preferred it that way.
“I know you’re capable, but I’ve also made a promise to protect you. I don’t like seeing my wife come home with bruises, Noah replied firmly.
Felicity nodded, acknowledging his point.
Satisfied with her response, Noah stated, “I promise no one will hurt you again,” Before heading to the bathroom.
“What about Jonah?” Felicity called after him. “Are you going to do something about him?”
“Don’t worry, that animal won’t bother you again.” He said behind his shoulders before walking off.
Felicity wasn’t sure what Noah had done, but she chose to trust him, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. The encounter with Jonah had stirred up unpleasant memories, and she felt a sense of trepidation about facing him again the next day. However, Noah’s assurance provided her with some comfort.
Losing interest in her script, she turned off the light and retired to bed.
The following morning, she rushed to the set. It was unusually quiet upon her arrival.
For the first time, no one cast judgmental glances or made snide remarks. Instead, she was met with friendly smiles,
unnoticed. although she ignored them, their change in attitude didn’t go
As she began her makeup routine, Lilian joined her. “Felicity, have you checked your social media feed lately? You’re topping the charts, girl!”
Surprised, Felicity pulled out her phone to see what Lilian was referring to. She was taken aback to discover that her follower count had significantly increased, “Wow,” she murmured in amazement.
“Why didn’t you inform me that you knew Vicky James? As your manager, I should be aware of these connections before they become public knowledge, Lilian scolded gently.

Felicity suddenly recalled the photos she had uploaded earlier. Amidst everything that had transpired, she had completely forgotten about them. That would certainly explain the surge in engagement on her feed.
“It was a chance encounter, Felicity explained. She didn’t feel it was her place to disclose Vicky’s association with the Elsworths.
“Chance encounter? You’re incredibly fortunate. Several modelling agencies have reached out to us. Are you interested in any of them?” Lilian asked, forwarding her a list of agencies interested in hiring her to advertise their products.
Felicity was stunned by the extensive list, her jaw dropping in disbelief. While she had dabbled in modelling in her youth, being approached by top-tier companies now was beyond her expectations. All because of a single photo with Vicky.
It seemed everyone wanted to be associated with positive influences, she thought.
“What do you think?” She asked Lilian, deferring to her expertise
Lilian’s face lit up with excitement. “I recommend we go with Everspring. They’re launching a new skincare line for both. white and black women. You’ll be collaborating with Grace Joel, a South African model. This opportunity will give you exposure on another continent.”
