After that confrontation, neither Felicity nor her father were in the mood to continue their game, the lighthearted atmosphere of the afternoon gone. 

Felicity’s fingers twitched restlessly as she packed her things, preparing to leave. She put some distance between her and her dad because she could feel his eyes on her, the questions lingering in them. Questions she didn’t want to answer. Felicity had no intention of sharing the truth with her father now. 

At the club’s entrance, Felicity turned to face her dad, a hint of sadness in her eyes. “Dad, I’m sorry we had to cut our day short,” she said, her voice soft. “I’ll call you soon.” She placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. 

But as she turned to leave, Connor’s question stopped her in her tracks. “What did you and Caster discuss?” he asked, his brow furrowing in concern 

“Nothing you should bother yourself about. He was talking nonsense.” She insisted, facing him. 

“I can sense your discomfort, Felicity.” Connor’s eyes narrowed, his face painted with uncertainty. “Was what he said true? Did you really have a hand in…” He trailed off, unable to finish the question. 

But Felicity knew he wanted to ask if she had a hand in Georgia’s death and the Walker family’s misfortune. 

However, before she could come up with an appropriate excuse to get her out of the situation, she recognized a familiar figure walking towards them. 

Distracted, she blurted out, “What is he doing here?” Her brows scrunched up together in annoyance. 

Connor turned to see who she was referring to and was instantly filled with smiles. “Noah,” He greeted warmly, his smile beaming. “You’re looking well. What brings you here today?” 

“Good afternoon, father. I see you’re doing well.” Noah answered with a smile of his own. He threw a glance at Felicity. “I came to pick up my wife.” 

“What a filial husband.” 

“I try my best.” 

The more Felicity watched their interaction, the more perplexed she became. Was this really the same man who refused to speak or look at her earlier? Why was he suddenly playing the part of a doting husband and son–in–law? 

“Felicity, go with your husband.” Connor gently pushed her towards Noah. 

“I drove here.” She replied, resisting. 

“I will have someone drop off your car later,” Noah assured her, his hand outstretched. “Let’s go.” 

Reluctantly, Felicity took his hand, not wanting her father to suspect anything. She also wanted to leave quickly before he started questioning her again. “Goodbye, Dad.” 

“Take care,” Connor responded. Then, turning to Noah, he added, “And make sure she eats, Noah. She’s too thin.” 

“Will do.” Noah laughed and waved at him. With that, they both made their way to his black jeep where his driver was waiting. 

“Why are you here? This is a public place.” Felicity hissed as soon as they got into the car, her eyes darting around, searching for any witnesses. Thankfully, they were alone. 

“So what? You’re my wife, aren’t you? The sooner you get used to us together, the better.” Noah answered, plainly. He looked

her up and down, and continued, “Besides, I was informed that Caster paid you a visit. Are you okay?” 

Felicity’s response was quick and sharp. “I’m fine.”

Noah, however, wasn’t content to leave the matter alone. “My men are already tracking him. Do you want me to get rid of him for good?” He asked, bringing out his phone to make the call. 

“No!” Felicity exclaimed, her hand shooting out to stop him. 

Noah frowned at her outburst, his eyes questioning. 

Sighing, she let go of his hand, staring out of the window. 

Caster’s words still echoed in her head, taunting her, but it was one particular detail that rankled. The assumption that Noah had been the one punishing him. As if she couldn’t have planned his downfall herself. 

Call her petty but her pride had been wounded, her hard work belittled. She wasn’t about to let Caster believe that her triumphs belonged to anyone but herself, even if that person was her husband. She wanted Caster to know that SHE was responsible for ruining him, no one else. 

“I’ll deal with him myself,” She spat. “Don’t get involved.” 

Bemused, Noah nodded, sliding his phone back into his pocket. “If you insist.” 

With that, silence reigned in the car and Noah went back to ignoring her like he did in the morning. Yet, despite her resentment towards Noah’s continued indifference, Felicity relished the quiet. It allowed her to collect her thoughts. 

Caster’s confrontation today was a wake–up call for her. His threat had rattled her, reminding her that there were still loose ends. Why should she wait for him to attack before retaliating? 

Felicity knew Caster well enough to understand the danger he posed. And right now, he was also very angry. God knows how much Georgia had spilled to him before she died. He wasn’t the kind of enemy she wanted lurking around. It was better to cut him off before he struck. 

Getting to the Villa, Noah dropped her off, returning to the office. As Felicity got out of the car, he called after her, “Don’t wait for me. I might come back late.” 

“I don’t care.” She huffed, slamming the door shut with a resounding thud. She made a beeline for her room, giving a nod of acknowledgement to Cassandra on the way. 

Grabbing her phone from her purse, she dialled a number. It rang once before the other person picked up. “Tomorrow, we end it.” she said, her tone cold and detached. The other person on the line didn’t need any further instructions. 

As the call ended, Felicity fell backward onto her bed, lips twisting into a sneer before a chuckle escaped her lips. Soon, it turned into a fit of sardonic laughter. 

Tomorrow, she was going to shake the whole media and throw the whole social elite class into a frenzy. She was going to shift the balance of the country.
