Chapter 207
The next day, Felicity woke up with a headache after barely sleeping a wink. The new revelation coupled with Axel and Noah’s probing kept her mind rolling all through the night.
Groaning, she rubbed her tired eyes before sluggishly getting out of bed to the bathroom, flinching when she saw her reflection in the mirror. Her bloodshot and puffy eyes were alarming.
“What the hell?” Felicity muttered in shock, feeling her face. “I only sk***d sleep for one night. Why do I look like a bloated mummy? Beatrice will surely kill me if I show up like this.”
She ran her hand through her hair in frustration just to find it severely tangled. “Today’s not going well.” She groaned, burying her face in her palm.
After splashing cold water on her face didn’t help with the mess, she decided to go find* *a for help since she always seemed to know what to do.
The old maid was usually awake early in the morning, and judging from the sounds of plates clattering in the kitchen, Felicity guessed right.
“Ca***ra Do you know how to get rid of puffy eyes?” She asked, barging into the kitchen area. She paused when she saw someone unexpected with C***a*dra in the kitchen.
Vicky was sitting on a stool across the Island, peeling apples with a knife while Ca***dra was fixing breakfast. Wearing a black leather jacket over a white shirt and boyfriend jeans, her hair was in a messy bun. She looked flawlessly beautiful.
“Vicky,” Felicity mumbled, startled. She didn’t know whether to be excited or scared. Vicky was the last person she expected to see in an early Tuesday morning peeling apples in the kitchen. “What are you doing here?”
Vicky gave Felicity a sweet smile, eating a slice of apple. “Felicity” She nodded in acknowledgment. “You look like shit.”
Felicity snickered at her remark, dismissing it with a wave. Slowly venturing into the kitchen unsure how to react. While she didn’t have any problem with Vicky and was glad to see her, it didn’t change the fact that Vicky must have known of the Elsworth’s secret and had kept it from her like the others.
Not to mention her sudden visit after the incident last night. Felicity wasn’t s***d. She knew Noah had called her to try and get information from her. Well, that ship had sunk before it sailed. She was offering nothing to them.
Taking a seat opposite Vicky, Felicity noticed Ca***ndra discreetly leave the kitchen to give them some privacy.
“Long time no see. How have you been?” Vicky started.
“Okay,” Felicity shrugged, giving her a skeptical look.
“Did you sleep well? It doesn’t look like you did,” Vicky started with a concerned look. “Are you having trouble sleeping because of the incident?”
“What incident?” Felicity probed, arching a brow. She wanted to see where the discussion was going to lead.
Vicky sighed, placing down the half-eaten apple and knife she was holding. She gazed at Felicity squarely. “The incident with Wilfred.”
“So you knew?” Felicity said, almost scoffing in disbelief but she held herself.
Vicky sighed. “Of course, I knew. Kagen has been bothering Noah for years. He has put the Elsworths and us through shit.”
Felicity leaned closer to the Island and answered, “If the Elsworths are as formidable as they say, why can’t they just find and kill the b***d, and leave innocent people alone?”

Chapter 207
Vicky shook her head. “Wilfred wasn’t innocent. He was working for Kagen.”
Running her hand through her rough hair, Felicity heaved a breath. She tapped her fingers on the Island, noticing how damaged her nails were before returning her gaze to Vicky.
“I know Noah sent you to talk to me. I don’t know why you’re st trying to defend his actions when you know that he is wrong. He put a bullet through a man’s head.”
“And you ran over and poisoned the parents of your ex-boyfriend. You made them disabled for life because they threatened your dad like they’ve always done for the past decade with no results,” Vicky retorted with a smirk before adding in a whisper, “Between you and Noah, I think you’re the real monster
Vicky’s words felt like a blow to Felicity’s gut. Her hands balled into a fist as she glared at Vicky’s smug face. If looks could kill, Vicky would be ten feet under by now.
“The Walkers deserve every misfortune that befell them. They are evil, corrupt, and a menace, yet even then, I didn’t put a bullet through their head.”
“What you did was worse than murder.” Vicky spat.
“Wilfred was a good man.”
“I don’t know why you’re so adamant that Wilfred was good. But I want you to know that I have met several people who were nice to me including your cousin, Georgia. But deep down they had a black heart. Because someone’s nice to you doesn’t mean they don’t want you dead.” Vicky stated with a look of determination.
She continued, “Wilfred works for Kagen. I don’t know what he did to make you trust in him so much but let me tell you this. The day you met him, he may have not wanted you dead but he sure as hell was waiting for someone else to die.”
Felicity remained silent, taking in everything Vicky was saying. Her guts told her to believe that they were right and that Wilfred was terrible. But there was still that fleeting encounter.
Did it mean that Wilfred was waiting for someone to die that night? Had she misread the sympathy in his voice that night? Had the blood loss made her mistake a demon for an angel?
“Can you prove Wilfred was working for Kagen?” Felicity asked, her voice sounding hoarse.
“Absolutely. Axel has shown me the evidence and it’s solid. It includes a tape from Wilfred’s interrogation.”
“I want to see that tape.”
