Wicked Scheme Lost a problem Got a man novel Chapter 120

Chapter 120
Felicity walked around the room subtly searching for the Walkers. When her feet started aching, she went to an empty table to take a seat. The auction hadn’t started yet, but she was already exhausted.
“Felicity Orion, fancy seeing you here.” A voice said behind her. Felicity sighed. Why did people keep sneaking up today?

She turned with a fake smile, “Mrs. Walker.” She acknowledged, nodding at the woman standing before her. Her target had come to her.
Delilah Walker was standing behind Felicity in all her glory, wearing a blue sequin dress shimmering under the gala lights. Her brown eyes gazed down at Felicity with a hint of coldness and mockery which Felicity was used to.
Tilting her head to the side, Felicity felt a sense of deja vu, but only this time, she was weirdly not scared or nervous to face one of the demons from her past.
She was reminded of all the times Delilah taunted her in the past, no doubt she was there to do exactly that again. Delilah looked elegant and poised as she always did, with no brown hair out of place in her classic bob. She sat beside Felicity with a sneer, “I was wondering why the room suddenly smells weird. Turns out they let garbage in
“Don’t be so hard on yourself, Delilah. You don’t smell that bad.” Felicity retorted, still smiling like she hadn’t just insulted
someone.
Delilah was stunned. Felicity never talked back to her before. It appeared the rumours were right. Felicity had changed.
“You impudent child. Where are you hiding this side of yours all this while to get in our good books? I thank God I never allowed Caster to bring you into our family.”
Felicity’s brow creased. The reason for Caster’s obsession towards her was because he was sick and dying. In her previous life, he was already persuading her to let him have her or**ns.
Didn’t Delilah know about Caster’s illness or was she just pretending? Or else she shouldn’t be glad about the breakup, she would be anxious for her son’s health.
“Sure.” Felicity replied nonchalantly, “You must feel terrible that you missed the break up. It was quite a spectacular one.”
“Yeah, you’re so pathetic that he dumped you for your dumb cousin. I wouldn’t trade my trip to Bali for that, sorry.” Delilah said, making Felicity raise her brow.
So, Delilah wasn’t on good terms with Georgia or she wouldn’t have referred to her as dumb. That was news since Felicity always assumed they were best of friends since they were both equally evil.
“Connor is stupid to let you lead the company. You must feel so high in the sky right now, but I bet you it’s not going to last.”
“Are you threatening me?” Felicity asked, amused.
“I don’t need to.” Delilah answered.
Felicity laughed, “I’m new to the business, but Orion group is doing great. I can’t say the same for Walker corporation. Up until recently, weren’t you guys struggling with bankruptcy?”
As she said that, Felicity noticed Delilah’s jaw clench. It appeared she was annoyed by the company’s previous state. Seeing an opportunity, Felicity decided to push her buttons.
When Delilah lost control, she made mistakes, and Felicity was more than happy to exploit them.

Chapter 120
“If you’re short on funds; perhaps the Orion Group can spare you some pocket change. After all, it’s no big deal to help the less fortunate.” Felicity dismissed Delilah with a wave of her hand
Delilah, furious, slammed her hand on the table. Quickly regaining her composure, she flashed a charming smile, and the onlookers, accustomed to the ongoing feud between the Orions and Walkers, returned to their conversations.
Delilah gave Felicity a sharp glare, saying, “I would watch your mouth if I were you. You used our absence to viciously attack my daughter. You are going to pay for everything you did.”
“She started it,” Felicity said, realising that Delilah was referring to Vivian’s ‘accident! She knew the Walkers would eventually seek revenge but was prepared to face the consequences.
“You ruined Vivian’s life, so I’ll ruin yours. Imagine if people found out about Connor’s heart problem and a month later, his sister being on the streets.” Delilah smirked wistfully as Felicity’s eyes hardened.
She didn’t miss the threat in Delilah’s words. How did they find out about that? They dug into their lives as soon as they returned to the country?
If people learned about Patricia poisoning her father, it would be bad. The press would bother them for months, and the company’s reputation would suffer. People would avoid them because they wouldn’t want to be linked to a family harbouring a murderer.
“You’re probably wondering how I know?” Delilah gloated, “Well, someone spotted poor Patricia in the slums, so it wasn’t hard to figure it out,” she said, leaning back on her chair with a mischievous glint in her eyes, “I might pardon you if you begged me right now to keep your secret.”
Felicity stifled a laugh, knowing that even if she begged, Delilah would release the news anyway. A smirk crept into her face, she inched closer to Delilah and whispered, “Do that, and I’ll tip off the police about your family’s cargo that sank in the ocean last week.”
It was Delilah’s turn to look surprised. Her face paled and sweat appeared on her forehead. Felicity relished every moment of it and she had Noah to thank for it.
He had told her about the Walkers’ illegal drugs shipment that had sunk in the middle of the ocean due to system failures. The Walkers were still struggling to clean up the evidence, and if the police started investigating now, they were bound to find something. It would cause a lot of trouble for the Walkers.
Now that Delilah knew Felicity had this power over them, Felicity was certain she would run to her husband for help. Charles would undoubtedly confront Felicity about it later. They would think they had a spy and would try to force the truth out of her.
Maybe a talk with Charles would give her all the answers she needed.
“How did-” Delilah began to ask.
“Did I know?” Felicity interrupted. “Oh, I didn’t, but your reaction just confirmed everything for me.”
Delilah shook her head in disbelief.
Felicity continued, crossing her arms, “I might pardon you if you begged me right now to keep your secret.” she said, repeating Delilah’s earlier words.
Delilah glared at her without saying a word before storming away, leaving Felicity with a look of pure glee. It was mission accomplished.
Just then, an announcement was made for everyone to proceed to the next room as the auction had begun.
Felicity stood up and followed the crowd, it was time to step into the real battle ground. Her mind suddenly drifted to Noah and she wondered what he was doing at that moment.
