Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 40

"If I truly wanted to go public with my identity, absolutely none of you could stop me."

She paused, her voice dropping into a dangerously smooth, quiet cadence.

"You should consider yourselves incredibly lucky that I have zero desire to be associated with this family."

Her sharp gaze locked dead onto Alistair.

"So, leash your daughter. If she comes out of nowhere to provoke me again, I promise you, everyone goes down."

Alistair stiffened, entirely thrown off guard.

That look in her eyes wasn't an empty threat.

His mind immediately flashed to the financial documents.

The absolute, undeniable proof of embezzlement that could utterly obliterate his entire life.

His hands curled into tight fists by his sides.

"Seraphina, how could you speak to them like that..." Lauren whined, ready to launch into another victimized tirade.

Seraphina shot her a lethal glare.

Alistair ground his teeth together and barked, "Shut up, Lauren. You do nothing but cause problems all day."

Lauren stared at Alistair in absolute shock.

Had he just yelled at her?

From the day she was brought into this family, he had defended her against everything.

And now, because of Seraphina, he was actually reprimanding her?

Alistair grew even more agitated under her stunned stare and waved a dismissive hand.

"We have incredibly important business here today. I am not letting you derail this over some petty catfight. End of discussion."

With that, he shoved past the group and stormed toward his designated VIP seat.

Eleanor threw one last, conflicted look at Seraphina. Her lips parted as if to speak, but she ultimately swallowed her words, spun around, and hurried after her husband.

Lauren stood frozen in place, her fingernails digging violently into her palms.

She had no idea what Seraphina had done to him.

But her gut told her Seraphina had some kind of catastrophic leverage over Alistair.

Still, her father was right about one thing.

Today was about the big picture.

She would put a pin in destroying Seraphina for now.

Taking a deep breath, Lauren turned her gaze toward the grand entrance.

She hadn't seen Dominic in days.

He had ignored her texts.

He had let her calls go straight to voicemail.
