Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 38

"Exactly. Come back for dinner more often," Arthur chimed in smoothly. "If the commute is a hassle, I can drive you, or I'll just drop off a hot meal for you during the day."

Warmth flooded Seraphina's chest. The Sinclairs were an incredibly ordinary, working-class family, yet the love they poured into her was extravagant.

There were no hidden agendas, no mind games, no impossible expectations. They simply couldn't bear the thought of her suffering.

It was a stark contrast to the wildly wealthy Lennox family, who spent every waking hour demanding she sacrifice herself for Lauren, or lecturing her to submit to the Lockwoods as if her in-laws were gods who could never be questioned.

Just then, the front door clicked open again, and a tall figure stepped into the apartment.

"I'm home."

Zach had just finished his shift, the crisp night air still clinging to his jacket.

Seraphina looked up. Seeing Zach standing in the doorway sent a fresh wave of emotion crashing through her.

Years ago, when she had suffered severe hemorrhaging while giving birth to Lily, the hospital's blood bank had completely run out. It was Zach who drove through the night, desperately donating his own blood to pull both Seraphina and her baby back from the edge of death.

And it wasn't the first time.

Because they shared the same rare blood type, he had done the same thing when she was a child. A reckless playground accident had left her bleeding out, and Zach had stepped up without a second thought, giving massive amounts of blood to save her life.

In all these years, the Sinclairs had never once treated her like an outsider. Instead, they had treasured her like their greatest blessing.

Zach shrugged off his jacket and glanced toward the dining table.

When his eyes landed on Seraphina, he paused mid-motion, his features instantly softening.

"When did you get in?"

"Just a little while ago."

Zach nodded and pulled out the chair next to her.

Seeing the absolute mountain of food Clara had piled onto Seraphina's plate, he let out a helpless laugh.

"Mom, if you keep giving her more, she's going to be too full to sleep tonight."

Clara waved him off. "What do you know? I bet she hasn't had a proper meal in days."

The whole family burst into laughter.

It was loud, it was chaotic, and it made Seraphina feel incredibly grounded.

This was her real home.

After dinner, Clara flat-out refused to let her leave.
