Underwater: The Silent Luna novel Chapter 280

Chapter 280

But before she could enter the VIP section, a bouncer obstructed her.

His action confused her. Cynthia stopped and stared at him as if he had misunderstood who she was. But the Gamma breed stood before her and stared her down, letting her know clearly that she could not enter. He did not look nervous. He did not look apologetic beyond the basic politeness of his job. He looked like a man who had received an order and had no intention of moving.

“I am sorry, Madam, but you aren’t allowed in here,” the bouncer said with a straight face.

Cynthia growled at him.

“Do you know who I am? Do you know what you are doing?” she yelled.

Half her words came out with a slur, and the sound of it made some people nearby turn more fully to watch. That made her angrier.

She heard herself and hated how drunk she sounded, but she could not pull the words back.

The bouncer remained expressionless and immovable.

Cynthia tried to move past him, but he stayed firm in her way, not moving. He also made sure he did not touch her. That irritated

her even more. It was careful disrespect. He would not let her through, but he would not give her the excuse of physical contact

either.

She reached to slap him.

He dodged.

The patrons of the club all stopped what they were doing to watch the show. Some even laughed at her. They did not miss the

stagger in her movement, the slur in her speech, or the way her anger looked messier than her title. Cynthia felt heat climb into her

face. The laughter cut deeper than she expected. Not because she cared about these people, she told herself, but because every

laugh sounded like proof that the power she had stolen was not real enough to protect her from shame.

“Madam, please leave,” the bouncer said nicely.

Cynthia shook her head.

“I am Luna. I deserve respect. Where is your manager? It is a crime to refuse a pack member service on pack grounds. This act is

punishable…” she said.

The people laughed again.

The bouncer was finding it difficult not to laugh because the woman was hilarious in the worst way. Still, he controlled himself and

hoped the manager would come and handle the matter. All he needed was permission from his boss, and he would gladly throw her

out of the club.

Chapter 280

The manager approached Cynthia.

He was a young man in his early thirties, an Alpha breed from a respectable family. He carried himself with quiet authority, not the loud, desperate kind Cynthia had been trying to wear. He managed and owned Ivy Club, and from the calm look on his face, he had expected this nonsense from the moment she walked in.

“Good evening. I am Mr Carlton Thomas, the owner and manager of Ivy Club,” he said sternly.

Cynthia smiled at him, relieved and irritated at the same time. Finally. Someone important enough to understand that she was hot

supposed to be blocked by a bouncer.

“Finally, someone with some sense. Your bouncer refused to allow me to enter the VIP section. He has been completely disrespectful. Is this how Ivy treats the Luna?” she asked.

Mr Carlton took a deep breath before answering her.

“If the bouncer at the entrance had done his job, we wouldn’t have to do this,” he said.

Cynthia was offended.

“How dare you speak to your Luna like that?” she asked.

Mr Carlton maintained a stern face.

“Luna Amber is ill, so the only Luna I know is Luna Meadow McCloud. No one in this pack recognises you as Luna,” he said.

The words struck her hard.
