Underwater: The Silent Luna novel Chapter 277

Chapter 277

Very few people knew Ethan could not shift, and Victoria was not one of them. So Victoria believed Ethan had simply taken his time and wanted to be sure before claiming her friend. If only she knew he would have claimed Meadow long ago if not for his condition. Now all the people who thought Ethan was wolfless would know otherwise, but they would still think he was useless because he

remained in a wheelchair.

It did not matter.

Progress had been made.

Meadow caught Joseph’s scent in Victoria’s room and frowned at her friend.

“Joseph was here?” Meadow signed.

Victoria nodded, but her cheeks coloured a bit.

Meadow’s eyes widened.

Victoria shook her head immediately.

“It isn’t what you think. He came here to ask for the list you asked me to compile because he wanted to train the people on it. I told

him I was working on it, and he asked if I was on the list. So I said yes, but I would have to brush up on my fighting skills, and he

offered to train me,” Victoria said.

Meadow was shocked. Then Victoria squealed with joy, unable to hold herself back.

“You liar,” Meadow signed, teasing her because she knew Victoria was a good fighter and did not need training.

“I couldn’t pass off on the opportunity. With Ashley out of the picture, he is up for grabs. I am not hopeful, but let’s see if sparks

fly,” Victoria said.

Meadow beamed at her, but she also worried for her friend because Joseph might not see her that way. Joseph was carrying too

much now. War. Amber. Ethan. Levi. Cynthia. The pack. Betrayal. He might not have space in his heart to notice someone quietly

standing beside him. But Victoria deserved happiness too, and Meadow did not want to crush her excitement.

Wanting to change the topic, Meadow decided to tell Victoria why she was really in her room.

“I need you to join me to see Cynthia. I want to speak to her, and I need you to interpret,” Meadow signed.

Victoria looked at her, dumbfounded.

“Are you out of your fucking mind?” Victoria asked.

Meadow shook her head.

“It is essential. For the sake of our friends and staff who she locked in the cells,” Meadow signed.

Victoria stared at her for a few seconds, clearly not liking the idea. Then she reluctantly agreed.

“I will join you, but don’t blame me for defending myself this time if she tries to arrest us and lock us up. I swear, Meadow, I won’t hold back,” Victoria said.

Meadow laughed, although soundless.

“Right. I know you wouldn’t want to expose your skills, then Joseph won’t have to train you,” Meadow teased.

Victoria gave her a sharp look.

“He is hot, Meadow, but I would risk it and rip her heart out even with that. I can always find other means of spending time/with Joseph,” Victoria said.

Meadow knew she was serious.

“It won’t get to that. Just follow my lead,” Meadow signed.

They both left Victoria’s room and headed towards Amber’s wing, where the office was.

Cynthia was watching a movie on the computer when they arrived. She was bored to her core and did not know what to do with

herself. The borrowed title had not brought the satisfaction she expected. Power, she was learning, was very dull when no one loved

you, feared you properly, or admired you without being forced. She planned to go clubbing once it was night-time. The last club she

went to had refused her service, so she planned to go to a more upscale one, and hopefully, she would find someone to help her

numb her pain.

Her toys were not cutting it for her anymore, and Sebastien had been right. She missed the punishments and the sex that always

followed. Sebastien knew precisely what to do, whether he was angry or simply trying to please her. Remembering what he used to

do to her made her wet and frustrated, and that frustration only deepened her loneliness.

She heard the knock on the door and rolled her eyes before asking whoever it was to enter.

Cynthia was surprised to see Meadow and Victoria enter her office.

Her eyes went straight to the mark on Meadow’s neck, and her stomach churned.

“He claimed her, Cynthia. He finally claimed her. I guess he isn’t holding out anymore, and the rumours about Echo aren’t true. Ethan had just been keeping his head down because of his legs. We really hurt him too,” Medley said with sorrow.
