Underwater: The Silent Luna novel Chapter 254

Chapter 254

Ethan looked at Meadow, and she nodded, confirming Levi was telling the truth about the incident that happened. Then she linked Ethan, letting the old memory open fully for the first time.

“I was walking home that night. I usually hid in the woods to ensure most of my peers at the academy were in their homes before walking to my house to avoid being bullied. I saw them, and he told the truth when he said he wasn’t into it. Agnes/was the one grabbing him and trying to show affection while he pulled her hand away from his neck. Obviously, she wanted to be seen, and was her audience. When Levi saw me, I ran. I ran, but he caught up and held my throat. He warned me never to tell anyone I saw him with the woman, or he would come for my family and me,” Meadow linked Ethan.

Ethan was shocked.

The anger in him shifted shape. Part of it remained directed at Levi because threatening Meadow that way was unforgivable. She had already been a silent, bullied girl then, already carrying more fear than anyone knew, and Levi had added more to it to protect his secret. But another part of Ethan understood the ugliness of being trapped by Agnes and trying to keep Amber from pain. Understanding did not excuse it. It only made the whole mess more tragic.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Ethan asked.

Meadow shrugged slightly.

“It wasn’t like we started off on the right foot with you or your mother, and then we had so much going on. I also felt it was his duty to come clean to his wife. I would have spoken if it were life-threatening, but it was his secret to tell. Then I learned about Amber’s sickness and did not want to say something that would make her depressed. Besides, it seemed he had stopped seeing the woman, so I just kept my peace, but I hated him for cheating on his mate, however brief it was. That was why I never took to him,”

she linked him.

Ethan composed himself with effort.

Joseph was confused and went to sit beside Victoria on the couch. He needed somewhere to put his body because his mind was doing too much. It was weird for Victoria because she had never been that close to Joseph before, and for some reason, she felt she needed to hold her breath. The room was packed with secrets she did not fully understand, but even the parts she caught were enough to make her uncomfortable.

“If you love her so much, why were you visiting me in Kentwood for the years you were with her?” Agnes asked in tears, feeling insulted by Levi’s choice of words.

“I wasn’t sleeping with you, Agnes. I was only visiting to see my child, who you refused to allow me to take a DNA test to confirm she is mine,” Levi shot back at her.

Agnes shook her head.

“It is an insult that you would request a DNA test knowing you are the only man I have been with,” she said.

Chapter 254

Levi shook his head.

“It was a bit off that you got pregnant quickly around the time of Cain’s death. You had always been careful, but then you threw

caution to the wind and got pregnant. You were pregnant when I came to tell you that Amber and I were officially together,” Levi

said.

Agnes looked away.

“So yes, I visited you often. What Meadow saw was me telling you to leave me alone and that I would send money to you. Am I

lying, Agnes?” he asked, a bit angry.
