“Stop being an ass” I shouted back at him and was thinking of ways to not let him start clawing at my brain when her hand suddenly moved. I looked back at her still sleepy face, wondering if she was faking being asleep.
But she wasn’t. She had stayed away from me while she could still control her mind and body, but now that she was asleep, her wolf seemed to be fighting hard to take control back.
That could be the only logical explanation for her reaching for me, calling my name in sleep despite the medicines and cream she used.
Her wolf was reaching out to me, to Fang after being denied and suppressed all day. And I wasn’t sure if I completely hated this turn of events.
Werewolves were truly fascinating creatures but I had never seen a case like hers. I could only imagine how strong her wolf would be when she found her.
“Let me out!!!” Fang paced restlessly at the back of my mind.
“Shut up, Fang if you don’t want me shutting you out completely”
I knew he was a fighter but I also knew he wouldn’t miss this opportunity to sense and smell her wolf.
And while I was having this mental debate with Fang, Sienna found my arm and her fingers slid upward.
I sucked in a breath through my teeth as her fingers kept traveling up and finally slipped into my hair.
“So soft,” she whispered, barely audible.
Fuck me!
I locked in every cell of mine, screamed at every muscle to not move like my life depended on it when all I wanted to do was bury my face in hers.
Why the fuck did I decide to this stupid deal? Why the fuck did I have to be the nice guy when I could simply give into what she and I both clearly wanted?
I groaned, telling myself over and over that even if she started it, she was delirious and awake Sienna would not do this, not now when she was taking meds to fight this.
And I couldn’t do this to her because she was asleep and didn’t know what she was doing.
As gently as I could manage with my entire body running hot and taut, I pushed her hand away from my hair, and forced myself backward, trying to reclaim the six inches of space that constituted the entire boundary of my self–control.
Maybe, asking her to sleep in the same room as me had been a stupid idea. I should go sleep on the couch or

maybe just head to the gym and exhaust myself to the bone just so these roaring thoughts in my head would quiet down.
But Sienna wouldn’t let me.
I watched her frown in her sleep when I pushed her away and then she was shoving the pillow wall aside in her sleepy state. Her wolf was instructing her unconscious body to move and she was destroying the fortress she so carefully built.
Fuck, I should have gotten up and woken up her as well. But some inherently selfish part of me refused to act on it. Or maybe it was my wolf.
“I am doing nothing” Fang snapped but I ignored it, feeling a rush of pleasure as she yanked the pillows away and found me again.
I tried to sit up but I was a second too late because her hand landed on my chest. I had just begun to push it away but then she threw her leg on me.
I blinked, utterly stunned as she sprawled against me, her small and soft body nuzzling against me.
How I wish I could wake her just to shake her hard and stop torturing me. But I couldn’t do that…not only because I wasn’t sure if the meds would have some more side effects but more because then her face would crumple like a wilted flower.
She would be crushed that she failed on the first day and that would be on me. She would not look me in the eye, not argue with me and just completely avoid me even when she was fully awake. Hell, I might as well have driven her straight into Aaron’s arms.
And I couldn’t accept that.
So I just lay there with my breath lodge somewhere between my throat and chest as Sienna buried her head in the crook of my shoulder, devastatingly unaware of the effect she was having on me.
I forced myself to hold still and just be a soft pillow for her, just about anything except what every part of me actually wanted to be in that moment.
She made a small, satisfied sound and pulled me closer, her head now resting on my chest, right above my
heart.
“Do something,” Fang said unhelpfully in my head “Touch her. She wants you. She said your name.”
“Not happening and we are not discussing this, Fang”
“Why not?” He grew annoyed.
“She wants you and her wolf wants us.”
“I said no!”
He let out a frustrated whine and I forced him back with more effort than I wanted to admit, and he barely retreated an inch but continued to grumble low in the back of my skull.
