The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 531

Winona and Stefan said their goodbyes and left together.

Willow couldn't hold back anymore. She turned to Giselle with a frown. "That Winona... she's got a lot of hidden motives. Giselle, are you really that close to her?"

Giselle offered a warm, innocent smile. "My mom adores her. She comes over a lot, so we just naturally got close. Don't you like her, Willow?"

Seeing how affectionate Winona and Wynne were with each other only confirmed Willow's suspicion that Winona was actively driving a wedge between them. "Your mother has been completely fooled by her," Willow warned. "That's why she's been so distant with me lately. Giselle, don't let yourself get played..."

She leaned in and spilled the details of Winona's past relationship with Yulen Locke.

Giselle listened quietly, an intrigued gleam flashing in her eyes.

If a woman like Winona could capture his attention, didn't that mean she could easily do the same?

Meanwhile, Ophelia Powell had people keeping a close eye on Giselle. The moment she heard Giselle was showing an interest in Stefan, she lost her temper. She immediately dialed Giselle's number, her voice dripping with venom.

"Don't forget who you really are," Ophelia snapped. "You're not some high-society heiress. You're a stunt double. Keep your eyes off Stefan. He's mine."

Giselle, who was already home and casually browsing her closet for the next day's outfit, kept her tone breezy. "Ophelia, I think you're overreacting. I'm just following your instructions—playing nice with Winona to keep up appearances."

"Save it. I don't buy a word of that."

Giselle was smart. She had already analyzed the entire chessboard. Ophelia knew Winona was Wynne's biological daughter, but Wynne, Sylvan Scully, and Winona herself had no clue. More importantly, Ophelia was inevitably going to find a way to make Winona disappear permanently. That meant Giselle's fake identity would never be exposed.

If she could secure her place as the beloved daughter of both the Scully and Powell families, marrying into serious old money was guaranteed. A man like Stefan Goddard? If she wanted him, she could absolutely have him.

But there was no need to antagonize Ophelia right now. Not when she still needed Ophelia to do the dirty work of getting rid of Winona. Once Winona was out of the picture, Giselle could sit back and reap the rewards.

Ophelia thought she was using her, but Giselle knew exactly how to play the game. She had clawed her way to this position, and she had zero intention of ever stepping down.

"Relax," Giselle said soothingly. "I just think Mr. Goddard is handsome, so I looked twice. Honestly, Ophelia, I'm purely focused on my career right now. You don't need to worry about me stealing him. Besides, the man is completely obsessed with Winona. Nobody is prying him away from her right now."

That last sentence struck a nerve. "Who says he loves Winona!" Ophelia hissed. "I'll make sure she's gone soon enough!"

Giselle chuckled softly. "Exactly. You're the only one who truly deserves him."
