The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 516

What Ezra didn't tell her was that the vehicle had undergone a military-grade tactical retrofit. The entire chassis was now reinforced with composite armor plating, and the glass was fully ballistic. Even direct gunfire wouldn't leave a scratch on anyone inside.

As the car glided forward, Winona had to admit the comfort level was lightyears ahead of what it used to be.

Suddenly, Ezra spoke up from the driver's seat. "Ma'am, Yulen Locke's vehicle has been tailing us since we left."

Winona glanced in the rearview mirror and spotted Yulen's car.

She had no idea what he was trying to accomplish, and frankly, she didn't care.

"Ignore him."

When they pulled up to the research institute, Winona stepped out.

Yulen parked a few yards away, stepped out of his car, and walked straight toward her.

"Winona, I brought you breakfast."

Winona looked at him, her expression freezing over. "I don't need it."

Yulen's tone was incredibly patient, almost indulgent. "Can we really not even be friends anymore?"

"No. In my book, a good ex should act like he's dead."

Yulen's face stiffened.

"Winona, why do you have to be so ruthless? We shared six beautiful years together. Even though I'm with Tallulah now, I'll always view you as family. I want to look out for you. If you ever need anything, you can always come to me."

He had thought it all through. As long as he kept his arms open, the moment Stefan inevitably broke her heart, she would come running back to him.

Winona couldn't even begin to comprehend the sheer delusion of his logic.

And she had no desire to try.

Without wasting another breath on him, she turned on her heel and walked into the building.

Seeing she wouldn't accept the food, Yulen wasn't discouraged. He simply got back into his car and drove off.

In the shadows of the trees not far away, Tallulah stared at Yulen's departing vehicle, her face twisting in pure rage. She gripped the steering wheel so hard she nearly snapped her fresh acrylics.

When he hadn't come home for three days, she had paid someone to track down where he was staying, only to discover he had bought a condo directly above Winona's.
