After getting home, Winona had dinner with Stefan, and the two of them took Biscuit out for an evening walk.

On the way back, Winona's phone chimed with a delivery notification. She turned to Stefan. "I have a package at the front desk. I'll go grab it."

"I'll get it," Stefan offered smoothly. "You take Biscuit upstairs first."

"Alright."

Once Winona was safely in the elevator, Stefan walked over to the concierge desk, where Ezra and Waldo were already waiting.

Ezra carefully sliced open the box addressed to Winona. Inside rested a lifelike severed hand, smeared with dried, dark red stains.

Stefan's brow furrowed in disgust. "This is the fifth package this month. We still haven't found who's sending them?"

Ezra shook his head. "Whoever it is, they're smart. These packages are being shipped from different cities every time, and the tracking data is a dead end. It seems like a psychological tactic—just trying to terrorize Ms. Jowett and mess with her head."

Stefan's expression turned frigid. "Keep digging."

"Yes, sir."

Ezra paused before adding, "Things haven't exactly been peaceful around Mrs. Powell or Mr. Kane the past few days either. Fortunately, our security teams are sharp and neutralized the threats before anything escalated."

"Understood. What about the background check on Ophelia's extended family before she was adopted? Have you found anything?"

"Ophelia's biological parents were both only children, so she barely has any extended family to speak of, and the few distant relatives are completely estranged. She did have an older sister who went into the orphanage with her, but the sister died in an accident years ago."

Stefan thought for a moment. "Look into that accident. Find out exactly how the sister died."

"Understood."

Waldo then handed Stefan a pristine, unblemished package.

Taking the new box, Stefan headed upstairs.

When he walked in, Winona looked up. "What was it? I didn't order anything recently."
