Winona and Stefan went to visit Yorke Linden and Maxine Zeller.

She and Yorke disappeared into the kitchen to cook.

Sitting in the living room, Winona looked at Stefan. "We're here to ask a favor. Is it rude if we just sit here and don't offer to help?"

Stefan replied, "Mr. Linden and Maxine cooking together is their bonding time. If we go in there, we'll just be a third wheel."

Winona understood and waited patiently in the living room.

An hour later, the food was served. It was a hearty spread.

Yorke smiled at them. "Taste everything and give us your honest critique on which dish is the best."

Maxine chimed in playfully, "Yorke and I made a bet. Whoever loses has to do the dishes."

Winona couldn't help but envy their loving dynamic. Growing up, the marriages she saw were mostly traditional, like Nikita's—the husband buried in his work, the wife pouring everything into the home. Their only shared topic of conversation was the children. And that was considered a stable marriage.

Most others were just endless arguments, mutual suspicion, being tied together out of obligation, and harboring deep-seated resentment.
