Yulen glared at Winona, who was standing a few feet away with an expression of absolute indifference. A surge of inexplicable frustration clawed at his chest.
He released Tallulah and marched straight toward Winona.
"Do you have any idea what today is? It's my son's welcome banquet! How could you humiliate Tallulah on such an important day? She just gave birth, she's incredibly weak, and you pull a stunt like this? You are truly vicious!"
Winona looked at him, her eyes dripping with absolute contempt.
"Are you furious because Tallulah was humiliated, or because your family lost face? It's because he's your son, and I ruined his big day. That's why you're mad, isn't it?"
Yulen’s brow furrowed. "What nonsense are you talking about?"
Winona pulled out her phone and played the livestream recording of Tallulah proudly announcing herself to the internet as Mrs. Locke.
"You really thought I was an idiot, didn't you? Yulen, everyone in this room knew she was your wife. Everyone knew today was your son’s party, and yet you thought you could keep stringing me along? You handed me a fake marriage license and played me for a fool for five years. Yulen, what kind of man are you?"
Yulen was completely blindsided. He hadn't expected her to know everything. Staring into her eyes, his mind went entirely blank. For the first time in his life, he couldn't form a single word.
Winona let out a short, hollow laugh, turned on her heel, and walked out of the hall.
Desperate, Yulen instinctively took a step forward, wanting to grab her and explain.
But Tallulah latched onto his arm.
"Yulen, what am I going to do now? You can't leave me! I'm terrified to go home alone. Mother and your sisters are going to destroy me!"
The paralyzing shock in Yulen's chest suddenly morphed into explosive rage. He whipped around and glared at her. "Why the hell did you go on a livestream and announce you were my wife? Haven't I given you enough, Tallulah? You knew exactly what would happen if Winona found out the truth, so why did you do it?"
His sudden fury made Tallulah violently flinch.
Swallowing her panic, she forced tears into her eyes and whispered, "How was I supposed to know she was going to show up? I swear, I didn't know..."
More importantly, the entire world now knew she was his wife. If he divorced her the very same night she was exposed in a scandal, the public would crucify him for being a heartless coward. It would destroy the Locke Group's remaining credibility.
Right now, their only option was to do immediate damage control, clear her name as best they could, and salvage whatever reputation the family had left.
"Camille, drop the divorce talk," he said grimly. "Our priority right now is flipping the narrative and cleaning up this mess. The Locke family cannot afford to lose any more face."
Seeing that he refused to listen, Camille let out a furious sigh.
Tallulah, however, nearly collapsed in relief.
She knew it. As long as she had given him a son, she was bulletproof. No matter how disastrous things got, she could always turn it around.
Winona could never, ever replace her.
